    WTB: DRZ400SM

Hey I'm looking for an early model DRZ400SM. I have about 3000 to play with, maybe a little more if the bike is clean and unmolested with relatively low miles.
If you know of any out there or can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

    Thanks.

    Re: WTB: DRZ400SM

I have a 2005 RMZ450/490. It is a motocross bike. But could easily be converted to SM.

    Check it out here:

That's not true at all. As long as you have the title and it passes inspection then it's fine.

    Re: WTB: DRZ400SM

As said above, the rmz is a mx bike. Japanese mx bikes come with title (or mso's to be more specific) that say FOR OFFROAD USE ONLY on them.

I'm guessing dudes looking for a street tard of some sort.

    Re: WTB: DRZ400SM

Just FYI, a non-supermoto DRZ400S with street-biased tires will handle pretty darn well, too. I put Shinko 705's on my DR350 and they stick great. IIRC, the 02+ DRZ's have a better front suspension than the 00-01.

    I have one for sale.

It is not unmolested. It is a 2006 sm with a 470 motor built by Eddie sisneros of sis Eros speed works in CO. He is the drz god on thumper talk. It has bremBo brakes, marchesini wheels and suspension done by gmd. Scott's damper.

If you want more info pm me. Many on the board have seen this bike. It is sweet but not for everyone

It's in Florida and a little more than you wanted to spend, but it looks real clean.

I converted my 400-S dual-sport model for about that. All in I am just shy of your budget.
I have yet to see an -SM listed under $3500. Everything I've seen under $4500 needed help. GL.

    Re: WTB: DRZ400SM

I'm pretty much looking for an as close to stock '05. I like supermotos but I'm looking for one that's reliable. Changing oil every 4-6 hours and checking valves half as often doesn't sound like my idea of fun.

Yeah, seemed a little steep for a 95. That Sharper graphics is nasty, though.

I hear ya man, not the bike for everybody, and although its a 95, once you start adding up the parts...forks $1800, wheels $1300, triple $400, tires....it gets up there quick.

I understand. It's nasty looking too. It's kind of a catch 22, though. I'm sure the parts add up and it runs like new since the engine has been refreshed. Just one off those things that seems like you'll have trouble getting your money back because of the age of the bike. Maybe I'm wrong. Just my .02 cents.

Not trying to shit on your fs thread, that's why I posted it in here. Glws.

No sweat man, I do get it. You rarely get your money back on something like this. I'm just trying to get close. There is just something about riding a 2t dirt bike on the street that made all the work worth while.
