    WTB: a friggin bike!

    Looking for a 500 preferably because I'm a wimp...

ninja specifically, seat height is a little lower which is nice. I had a gsf500 and would do that again...

    will consider bigger engine

I need it to be built, running, reliable and cheap. Under 2K.

does not need to be pretty, i'll probably drop it anyway...

    Thanks!!

    Re: WTB: a friggin bike!

There is a 500e in the for sale section. I will probably sell mine soon too. But I have to get the new paint done first. As a relative noob rider, I can say the difference in power between a GS500e and an EX500/Ninja is noticeable. Or was to me. Which is good and bad. It is a little slow above 75 or so with a bigger rider. But you are never going to wheelie accidentally.

As a plus, you can drop a 500e and do nothing but replace clutch levers because it has no plastics. And that's without frame sliders. The 500f you would just make into a naked bike anyways after you drop it once.

    Re: WTB: a friggin bike!

I looked locally and can't find anything, kinda early in the season still. But I did find a nice Ninja 500 in Essex VT.

well a little over budget at 2300 but nice and low miles http://burlington.craigslist.org/mcy/1651602221.html

If yer really itching to go for a ride I can put the passenger pegs and seat back on my bike

Will you consider smaller? Hey, they always say it's not how big it is . . .

Here's a Ninja 250 with 3k on the clock, for $1900 (not mine).

it's nice, but 250 may be too small for me engine wise, probably a better fit inseam wise...

the VT one looks ok, nice price esp bc i would make him go lower

Don't sell it short. The Ninja 250 is a quick and fun bike. Plus, based on the photos, the bike looks pretty stock, i.e. no one has screwed with it mechanically or electrically, so no mysterious running bugs or demons.

Hawks are a "Cult" bike. They lend thereself well to mods and even racing. Great handling, very upgradeable and people constantly ask if it is a Ducati.

They were only made from 88-91.

ya, i emailed him asking what it entailed. however, it would match my helmet and gear

the yellow one, owner jill, is in contact with me. However, I know the ninja seat height is a bit lower and i was tippy-toeing on the gsf

bastard, you beat me to the punch

Andrea, if you can afford a nice Hawk, do it... it's a pantie dropper

I'd place the EX500 slightly above the GS. Liquid cooled, more power... maybe a little heavier I think, but not by much.

    Consider an SV?

I always thought the Ninja was a taller seat height?

Good thing about the Ninja is you have ALOT of knowledge here on the forum.

Plus, they are torquey lil b'tards and I've seen one stay with a ZX-9 without a problem.

GS vs Ninja...well I am a bit biased there and would say GS, you'll grow into it
Actually any of them could be lowered a bit, and both GS and Ninja would probably be about perfect for you. One thing to consider is weight.

    Ninja 500 373 lb dry
GS looks to be 396 dry
