    WTB: front brake master cylinder

    Hi,
I am looking for a front master cylinder to use on my yz450 that I am using a moto master caliper on. I am currently using a stock master that I am not happy with. Does anybody have anything for sale? I guess i would like to try a stock sportbike one.

    Thanks,
    Nathan

    I have a brembo unit from a '09 R1 laying around somewhere.

Honestly, it was a bit too squishy for me so I bought an Accossato. But, I'd sell it for pretty cheap if you want it...and if I can find it!

I have the 16x18 radial brembo mated to my moto master to give you an idea of what size to look for.

Yeah, Chuck, you got your lever rock solid with that setup, right?

Not sure if mine is in need of new seals or what.

See if you can find it and lets figure out a price. I am nervous that you think yours needs seals though. Let me know.

Re: WTB: front brake master cylinder

Nate, have you tried the zip tie trick? A lot of times with the stock master, a small air bubble gets stuck where the line meets the master and causes a squishy feeling. Everything I've read in the past suggests not using a master bigger than 13mm on a Supermoto as you sacrafice brake feel with the larger masters.
The MotoMaster 13mm master is what you really want..but costly unless you can find one used..No, mines not for sale..haha

    Hi Mark,
I have tried the zip tie trick. I just figured I would try a different one to see if it works better. I have also heard the yfz master works good too. Got one of those for sale?

but I have 4 piston calipers, not the 2 piston stock calipers.

The R1 master was squishy with the stock calipers.

The motomaster is a single 4 piston caliper. So that r1 master should be perfect.

Damn! I dropped the ball and took off to the depths of NH for the weekend. I'll find it Sunday night and send you a photo. Yeah, not sure if the squishy is natural, or an issue. May be a bit of a dicey buy. Judging from what Chuck was saying though, it might just be the feel of that m/c. Again though, I'm not 100% sure.

    Thanks,
