As soon as I got my heated jacket liner, I stopped using my heated grips completely. I picked up a set of Olympia cold weather gloves, it's more than enough when my arms are sitting in what feels like a hot tub.
You'll need to power the heated gloves. Easiest way to do that is with a heated jacket liner that has the outlets at the end of the sleeves.
People make recommendations because they have been there before, not because they want to make you overly sensitive and defensive.

BTW, you are about my size. Take a ride up and I'll toss my fitted Gerbings heated jacket liner on you to take out for a spin. Then you can decide for yourself. Either way, it has the outlets at the end of the arms for heated gloves.

Tour master and powered Jacket liner and gloves.
I will not go any other way.
By having the liner all you need is a t shirt, liner and a outer shell. That is it. You will feel a lot more comfortable without all the extra layers and you will be able to move around a lot more easily.

I've been running the same Widder Electric vest for over 10 years. Its not bulky at all. They have gloves too but I have always run grips.
Not fancy or newest hi-tech gear but it works great.
I think Widder is now only available thru the Iron Butt Ass. web site.

have a heated jacket if you want to try it on. It's a men's small because I was trying to fit it under my leathers and that didn't happen. I'll sell it cheap, fits me like a fitted shirt so might be too small. Maybe I can get it to jackie for you to try/borrow/ buy .
eta by borrow I mean if it kinda works but not really and you just want to get by for the next few months. I can't use it so I have no probs loaning it to someone who can

I'm not riding street anymore so my Heated Gloves are for sale. They are like new (used maybe 4 times) and are XL. You're welcome to try them to see if they fit?
I'd sell them for $100.
