    Re: WTB: Inexpensive Dirtybike

Thanks everyone. So far there's been a lot of good advice and a lot of people think the same way I seem to. Just to cover a few things that have been mentioned.
-My wr is very fun off road for someone of my skill level, however, I want to keep it as a dual purpose bike for right now, which means I don't want to beat it to death off road.
-I don't need a title, but I need to have whatever is required to register it for off road use at HVD.
    - Imbeek's ktm is sweet.
-Nhbubba, thank you for your comments, as they affirm what I already believed.
-Next new bike may very well be a orange one, but for now my skill level and price range are both inadequate for one.
-To spend 5k on a used bike, I may as well just take out a loan for a new one.
-The older cr/rm/yz/Kx 125 2stroke route seemed like a good idea, but as mentioned, the work I'd have to put into a clapped out "never been raced" bike covered in sponsor stickers seems a bit ridiculous.
Thanks again for all the input. I'll keep looking and in the meantime if anyone finds anything good locally please feel free to pass it on. As mentioned before if I don't find anything now I'll just hold off and get something better in a few months. Anyone know where typeone's wr went to?...

I should add: I'm proof you don't need any skill at all to own an orange bike.

Your budget seems damned close to Gary's orange thing.

yup, good eye. title says 2001, description says 1991. still looks real clean to me though. maybe offer $900? $850?

(shit, i can't even imagine buying a dirt bike for 900 dollars. it's against my Religion)

ok, that helps. my vote is still on a KDX 200/220 for the budget you've set.

This does appear to be a great deal. I don't know how far outside your budget you're willing to go, but for anybody wanting a woods bike, this fits.

    Re: WTB: Inexpensive Dirtybike

I was thinking the same thing, but I'd have to put a few miles on the new bike before selling the KDX. The bike is just too good in the woods to swap it blindly!

    Re: WTB: Inexpensive Dirtybike

If you want to try a KDX, I have one that sits in my garage now. I hope to use it again someday. Someday seems like a far away land right now.

But I'm in Webster and you can take it for a test run at HVD if you like. You'd just have to come get it.

    Re: WTB: Inexpensive Dirtybike

That is an amazing offer, thanks! I'll have to see what my schedule is like and my friend who has a trailer. There are a couple folks on her who's bikes I'm looking into, so I'm going to see how those pan out first.
