Ladders, Scaffolding, Lynn Ladder they have a location in Springfield

I would guess a local to you hardware store or one of the big box stores would also have them.

    Rockys Ace hardware
    Barrows hardware
    Grafton square true value
    Home depot
    Lowes

If there is a contractor supply place like Littleton lumber out by you they would also have them.

    Re: Wtb ladder(s)

I was in the same boat when I bought my house in terms of figuring out what to do with ladders, and went with this. It would scale down small enough to be used indoors and extended far enough for every applicable use I had outside(however the house is a ranch, so no need to go up multiple stories)

Access Denied edit: I don't know why the hyperlink says 'access denied' but it's a link to Lowe's and it works

One of the best investments I made

Lynn Ladder has closeouts. We bought a 10’ fiberglass for $50.

    Re: Wtb ladder(s)

    Correct tool for the job:
Inside I'd get a 6 foot fiberglass step ladder, this one should do the job:
    Access Denied
The utility shelf thingy isn't super important. For painting I just use a can hook like so:
Amazon.com: Warner Tools 411 Swivel Pot Hook: Home Improvement

For outside get yourself an aluminum extension ladder. Buy it at least 2-4 feet taller than you need. Fiberglass is only marginally more expensive but they're a hell of a lot heavier. Something like this 24 foot one should do the trick:
    Access Denied

You can probably find a decent aluminum extension ladder for cheap on craigslist. For the fiberglass step ladder I'd buy new.

    Re: Wtb ladder(s)

I ended up with a couple different ladders through a contractor friend for free/cheap/beer. Once they have even the slightest amount of damage (whether it affected safe function or not) they were replaced by his employer, old one just goes up for dibs.

    Re: Wtb ladder(s)

    I'd borrow first.

I have a little giant. It's awesome. Step ladder when needed. Extension ladder when needed. You can even set it up as a step ladder on stairs, as the legs are separately adjustable.

If I used it on a daily basis it'd be heavy and I'd get frustrated with it. I don't, so being a little heavy isn't really that big of a deal.

If I had to do it again I'd get the same thing.

    Re: Wtb ladder(s)

for a long time now I've done painting on the side between jobs, and between plowing in the winter since my main job is seasonal right now.

Since I work alone and my last 3 cars have been Honda Civic's I got a little giant ladder a long time ago. Maybe 17 years ago the thing is pretty great. I can be a little heavy I don't use it everyday. I've used it in the staging way a lot. it works great.

There are other ladders that are similar (Werner i think makes one similar), not sure if they're as study but the little giant is sturdy as all hell. I'm sure they would be good though. Werner seems like a sturdy brand

    Re: Wtb ladder(s)

I have a friend who had the Werner "competitor" like Iglu linked above. It worked pretty well. In my opinion it wasn't as versatile as the little giant, but it was a good alternative.
I don't know how far apart they are in cost, but the Werner multi fold thing would be my 2nd choice.

    Re: Wtb ladder(s)

If I remember right, Werner makes two W ladders. I have the smaller one and it works great. I also use a small aluminum extension ladder for slightly bigger stuff and I have a 30' extension to go up the side of the house. The larger Werner W ladder and a 26' or so extension would serve the standard home owner quite well.

Ha... I can keep an ear out. This was over quite a long time though. I was more implying that you might be able to find a similar deal if you happen to know anyone in the construction world.
