    WTB - Take-offs for SV650

Picked up a new to me SV650 last night and I will be tracking it at Jersey in two weeks and at Loudon in October. Need a set of take-offs for an SV650, looking for a matching set.

How much life do they have left? I'd need to find some warmers.

you don't need them. for track days you aren't winning anything getting to the first corner first so its not necessary to have hot tires on that first lap.

I have no idea where you are located, but I have a set or 2 of Pirelli Dragon Supercorsa Pros that would fit the bill.

    Re: WTB - Take-offs for SV650

Slicks really aren't all that different than DOT race tires, which aren't really all that different than a track day oriented tire, which aren't all that different than sporty street tires. The biggest differences are grip and the operating temperature range.

The PRIMARY purpose of tire warmers is to get your tires up to temp before you go into turn 1. Yes, there are secondary benefits, but they pale in comparison to the primary purpose. So... do you NEED to have your tires up to temp before you go into turn 1, or can you stand to ride a lap or two at 70-80% while they warm up?

Me personally, I don't bother with warmers unless I'm going out for a race or maybe practice. Track days, they typically stay in the bag no matter what kinda tires I'm on.

    Re: WTB - Take-offs for SV650

The only reason I thought I needed warmers was from what I was told. I have not raced and I have never run slicks. But that makes sense.

CSmutty - how far are you from the Sturbridge area?

Been meaning to get a pair of those from Christian.

If you only need one set but pick them up, I'd be glad to grab the other from you at NJMP and throw you a little extra cash (or beer ) for the favor. You're a lot closer than me.

I thought so too. Until I was on my ass in turn 3 after pitting out. At snails pace.

I may need to hit you up for another complete set. (I knew I should have taken 2 rear tires.)

I was hoping to get the rest of the trackdays this year out of the front I had and the rear I got from you back in August, but the front is getting pretty bad and the rear isn't going to be far behind after the 9/27-28 days.
