Get the door mount one at Walmart, it's like $30 and works well with no damage to the door

I can't imagine there would be no damage if you use it often.

You would be surprised, there pretty well designed. I don't use mine often, I've had it about a year and maybe done 1000 pull ups on it over that time and it hasn't left a scratch, dent or anything.

    It leaves black marks.

It's all water under the bridge, and we do enter the next round-robin. Am I wrong?

Those are a good compromise, but they just aren't as good as the real thing, IMO. Everybody that I know that has one that uses it regularly has had to make some sort of modification to make it not do some sort of damage. For some that means extra padding so as to not dent the trim and to not leave black marks. They do seem to work pretty well though.

I had only had to put a little more padding on the part that contacts the molding and the back side where it contacts the drywall. And I weight 225. It would've definitely dented the molding if I didn't.
