I hear ya, but I think it's gonna be awfully tough to find a 600 for under 3k that isn't a shitbox.

If you're really limited to 3k I don't think you can afford to be picky. I think you'd be much better off being more flexible on either your budget or your bike choice.

Gotta spend money to save money... Something I learned early in life and it defitely rings true in racing.
