    WTB: F + R Stands

Need to buy front and rear stands before winter sets in...

Been browsing flea-bay... but if somebody has a good price on a set of used ones, let me know.

And / Or - where do you guys purchase your stands (new) from?

Is there really a big difference from manufacturer to manufacturer? What about no-name brands?

Got a set of those about 2 years ago and have been very happy. Stable enough for me to practice hanging off the bike while on the stands.

You Sir know nothing of true greatness. I of course refer to ones ability to steal, drink and generally do nothing, and carry it off with style

If your interested in a Pit-Bull stand, I have contingency with them. I'll consider purchasing a stand with that money and selling it to you as I already have a set of stands from them and their good for life!

I've got a set of GPI Industries front/rear stands. Not as nice as PitBull, but they worked great for keeping the 250's wheels off the ground last winter. I don't expect them to work so well with the single-sided swingarm on the R1150GS, though. There's some surface rust where dragging the bike/stands around at Loudon scratched the paint off, I'll try to grab photos tonight. $65 and I'll see if I can get 'em up to Essex (easy enough if I can fit them on the back of the 1150 and make it to Bike Night, otherwise it might be a little tougher, but I'm sure we could figure something out).

Was it from an eBay store (Buy-It-Now) or just an individual selling some used stands? If a store... post up a link, thanks!

it was from a store that was an auction item. The seller is tootobear. When I was shopping I just searched for MOTORCYCLE UNIVERSAL FRONT REAR STAND KIT SWINGARM BIKE and I got a bunch of results. GL

More uploading at http://kevinbroderick.com/FS/GPI/ now, full-res versions at http://kevinbroderick.com/FS/GPI/big/ next in case you want to really see detail.

Er, assuming the upload works, it's being silly at the moment. But they should get there soon.
