I bought a set of Warp9 wheels for my KTM in the spring, abit heavier, fit&finnish kinda sucks, but for the price, I think they are a great buy. If you buy new, you can also upgrade to a 5" rear for a small amount more. I want to say I paid $800 for both wheels, 5" rear, all spacers, relocator bracket for the front, front and rear brake rotors and a sprocket.
Are you looking for a race set up, or a trackday/street tard?

That was a great kit that I sold last month...you were only a couple days late asking about it.

I bought the warp9's on ebay, emailed the seller prior to "buy it now" and asked about the 5" rear, he posted up another ebay add a few minutes later for the same kit with a 5" rear, and I bought.

a 160 will actually fit better on a 4.5" wheel. like an SV.

There's been some threads on SMJ in the past and if I recall, the rim size of choice for a 160 was 4.5" -5" Anything smaller than a 4.5" and the sidewalls pull in and changes the profile. Not a huge deal, just going by what I read in SMJ. If you're ordering new, i'd go at least with the 4.5"

    4-4.25 for a 150
    4.5-5 for a 160
I look at it this way.
    SV has a 160 rear and a 4.5" rim
    F3 has a 170 rear and a 5" rim
    Modern sportbikes with a 180 have a 5.5" rim

I think that a wider rim then what is needed keeps the sidewall almost vertical but makes the tire more roundish. I think most of those guys do it for clearance issues. If they put a proper size tire on the rim the tire would rub on the chain or swingarm.

Ok cool....appreciate it. Seems as there is a few chioces on tires but not many. I think there also may be a sumo Ride that we may have to get going.

I'm pretty sure I, and the majority of the other guys running 450s run 4.25 with a 160...maybe I'm wrong

people with a 4.25 generally run a 150. not saying you couldnt run a 160 if youve got the room. ive got a 5" on my bike with a 160. i forget how much room is back there. i may do a 170 in the future if ive got the room, although 160s are so cheap.

That's a good combination! For what it's worth, even your 4.5" rim will be set up a bit offset from the carrier center to keep everything a bit away from the chain

Re: WTB Supermoto Wheels...for a Yamaha

ok then this is what ive gathered then

for a 160 rear you can do:
pretty much any of your typical SS tires. Pilot powers 9in any flavor), Dunlop Q2, Conti attack SM, pirelli corsa whatever etc. all of these are going to be a pretty "soft" tire so you will sacrifice a lot of longevity for grip. the PP 2ct i had this summer only got about 4k miles. Michelin said thats normal.
you can also find just about any sport touring tire from mich, dunny, pirelli, conti etc
if you want something with a little dirt flavor id stay away from the avon distanzia as in a 160 they only come in a supermoto compound and wear pretty quick. and in a 160 your options are limited to: pirelli scorpion trail and MT 60-r

if you go with a 150 you SS tire options start to slim down, but your sport touring options i think will stay the same.
if you want something with a little dirt (think 90/10 or 95/5) you can get the avon distanzia in a ST or SM compound, pirelli scorpion trail looks like it may come in 2 compounds as well.
if youre willing to mix and match a little (more "street" front with a "trail" rear)then your options really start to open up. mostly due to the fact that a lot of the big adventure bikes like the Tiger and the BMW GS and stuff run a 150. the only issue is finding the 120 front as those bikes tend to run a 18,19 or 21 usually. but if you do theres the conti trail attack, bridgestone trail wing or battle wing, michelin anakee2, dunlop trailmax, metzler tourance/exp.

Re: WTB Supermoto Wheels...for a Yamaha

I know I am late to this conversation but I have a 5.4" rear marchesini on my 2006 YZ 450f. Fits fine. I am currently running a bridgestone slick 165. I am about to get a set of street tires mounted up in the next month or so because I am going to fit my supermoto set up to a 2012 WR450F that I plan to make street legal.

I am in nashua and you are more than welcome to come up, check it out, and talk shop.

    Nathan

Re: WTB Supermoto Wheels...for a Yamaha

Don't know if you are still looking. I don't go on here much but I used to be active on SMJ.

I have a set of wheels with gold talon hubs and black excel rims. 5 inch rear. I bought them a couple years ago with the plan of getting a YZ 250, but that never worked out.

I have never even mounted them but they seem to be in great shape. The only thing is that the PO forgot to tighten his front brake caliper and scratched a nice ring around the front rim.

They should fit any YZ or WR between 1998 and 2008 if you use the correct spacers. They come with mounted slicks and a sprocket.

    I can deliver them. $800
