Wtb: tool storage cabinet or cart

I am in the market for a tool storage cabinet/bench and/or a tool kart like the one Kurtz brings to the track.
I don't have many tools but collection grows with time and I'm trying to keep everything organized.

Trying to get low price stuff...

    Thank you

First you screw, then you bolt.

I live down by Saint Christophers Church on west boylston St....I use to do my pinecroft dairy area paper route on my minibike many moons ago. We rode all over Hall's Field before they took it for the highway.

Got this one for the track, about $375 at Sears for the set. They have cheaper but their drawer sliders are only rated for 30 pounds, mine had 75 pound sliders.

I have a very large Harbor Freight roller chest with a side box I scored for about $600, it has probably 3 times the storage space my new craftsman does, strong sliders, it's a nice box. Their boxes in general I found to be of pretty good quality. They're basically all just sheet metal, sliders, and someone's name stamped on the front. I store all of my heavy mechanic tools in there and I'd recommend it to anyone.

I have a bunch of Sears toolboxes, and also one of these from HF. It's great quality at a great price. To be honest it feels sturdier than most of my Sears stuff does (my Sears stuff is old).

I was disapointed the last time I looked at tool boxes at Sears. Even Snap-On boxes are using thinner sheet metal these days. Probably the best bang for buck for "professional" quality ive seen lately is Stanley's PROTO line of boxes.

Sears and HF both have several lines of boxes. As one may expect, the lower tier lines are crappy, but cheap. The higher tier ones are better. In the case of HF the price just doesn't scale as fast as Sears.

That said, I have 2 Sears/Craftsman sets. One is the tits, but cost. The other is meh but was cheap. I expect my good chest to outlast me.

The deal is these things are 100% about the quality of drawer slider used. I have a Kobalt chest that has some really crappy sliders, you can HAVE the bitch. I also wouldn't buy the cheaper craftsman ones, chinsy sliders.

Exactly. Ditto for HF. They have some where the slider is nothing but a greased section of pressed steel. They look like they were designed made in the 1920's. Others are the full ball bearing type with latched drawer pulls.
