    Mid-Bass Driver

My friend blew hers in her Sentra and I am looking for some to install for her. Looking for less than $100 for the pair. Quality needs to be decent, but she doesn't need something top of the line (and she won't get it for that price). Didn't know if you guys had anything that you were looking to get rid of or had any recommendations based on past experience. The car has a factory 9 speaker system with a 300w RMS factory amp. Speakers are 6" but I think I can fit a 6.5"?

    Smutty,

Make sure you check the impedance of the woofer you are replacing and install a new one of the same impedance.

Alot of the factory systems are very tempermental about the impedance of the speaker and you could possibly damage the amp, overheating/overcurrent etc., if it is expecting a 6 or 8 ohm speaker and you throw a 4 ohm in it's place. If you go the other way where it is expecting a 1 ohm speaker (BOSE) and you put in a 4 ohm you wind up losing volume in that pair of speakers and the system sounds less balanced then it used to.

All of that aside, she can probably grab a set of 6" or 6.5" speakers at any of the big box stores, Best Buy etc., that would fit and work fine for her budget.

You say factory system. Is it a brand name like fosgate, bose,Boston acoustics? If so then you need that speaker. It's a component system. Like Joel said, very tempermental.
I have a sub in my car that is part of the factory BA component system. I can't put in a different sub without changing the whole system.
    Just check into it.

Dammit. That would be super uber dumb. The factory speaker is $90 for a POS. And the sub that she blew is $300 plus for a POS.

    Re: Mid-Bass Driver

For the speaker, you'd have to replace the whole front speaker set, i.e. woofers and tweeters in both doors, with something aftermarket, or just get the single factory speaker you need, which is most likely cheaper, and since the factory amp is made for the speaker, is most likely a better option. As for the sub, for that price, you're better off just going for an aftermarket sub/amp. If you wanna stay compact and factory style, the Infinity Basslink II ain't bad for the price.

    So I bought these...

But if they wont work without rewiring the car maybe I'll just go for the factory speaker.

Yea that was my initial thought too. But they were cheaper than 1 factory speaker and would last longer.

Not if they are underpowered! Typically under powering is worse than overpowering.

My xterra came with the same RF system. I replaced it about a day after I bought it. I am almost 100% sure I know exactly where I put the speakers when I took them out. If you want to pay to ship em I'll send both 6.5"s to you.
