WTB/WTT: Woodcraft dual temp 180 tire warmer

I have a set of 120/160 Woodcraft dual temp tire warmers. The rear no longer works, it just doesn't get hot. I believe the light still turns on.

I need a 180 rear. I'd like to pay ~$100 for a woodcraft dual temp, not really interested in mixing and matching brands. If you want my 160 in return, you're welcome to it.

If you want to buy my broken 160 for basically nothing in hopes of fixing it on the cheap, I'd like to make a gentlemen's agreement that you pay me a nominal fee for it ($20), and then another nominal fee if you can fix it ($40). If you would like to hedge your bets, you can buy it straight up for $40.

I will also sell the working front warmer for $100 and put it towards buying a complete set of warmers.

I've got an extra set of dual temp Woodcraft warmers, speak up if you need them. You're good company in the garage.

Jay, I might be able to fix that rear for you.

And last I knew, all woodcraft warmers were 180 fitment... did you try it on the Daytona? Didn't fit?

Thanks dude, I'll let you know. Good times this past Friday, thanks for taking me in.

Honestly, I have no idea. I bought them from Smutty a few years back, and I *think he advertised them as 160. I actually never tired to put them on my Daytona...that would be the logical first step. I'm going to try that then update.

Regardless. The rear is broken. I am almost positive the light comes on but they just do not get warm. Is the fix simple? Like, I cut open the stitching, check a few wires for power, then replace the broken bits?

Possibly. My front died n I was able to fix it after talking with Eric.

At one end is there a hard piece under the fabric that feels like an inline fuse? It'd be about the size of a golf pencil but much thinner.

You say feels like an inline fuse...is it a fuse or is it something else? A fuse that may simply may need to be replaced?

It's a fuse. Eric says its safe to remove it completely. Doesn't actually need to be there. They just put it in as an extra safety precaution.

    Probably a thermal fuse, no?

If it makes you feel safer (it would make me feel safer), when you pull the warmers apart to get to the fuse, it should have numbers on the side to tell you what temp it has to hit to blow.

Can probably tell if it's blown with an Ohm meter.

If it is, then go to your local electronics store or buy one online, solder it in, and you're good to go.

I saved my $60 George Foreman for the whopping sum of 50 cents by replacing one of these after I accidentally plugged it in without the plates seated.

Couldn't tell ya. All I know is Eric assured me it didn't need to be in there so I grabbed a knife, some soldering tools n my teammate and we did some surgery. Works mint.

Well, it seems simple enough. Will take a look Wednesday when I should be in the general vicinity of the bike and warmers.

The warmers have made it from my dad's basement to my apartment...one step at a time.
