Not 100% correct, if you're buying from a no title state you just need a Bill of Sale and a prior registration from the no title state.

Not in MA. MA will not register anything without a title.

Trust me, I've sold bikes from Maine to MA residents, if it's a no title state, Mass has to honor it. Maine for example will not title anything smaller than 299cc, and all Yamaha RDs are in the no title age range for Maine as well. Bill of sale plus last registration is all that is needed for those bikes in Mass.

Note: http://www.massrmv.com/rmv/regs/ says Title if applicable.

I was at the rmv few days ago and was told bill of sale cannot replace a title in MA and to not buy anything without a title if I plan on register it in MA

    Re: WTB Yamaha RD 350/400

The key, is the vehicle you're looking to buy has to A) be non-title-able but still registrable in the state you're looking to buy from and B) have a valid prior registration to document the last owner. Those two combined take the place of the title when combined with a bill of sale. The RMV cannot refuse that documentation. Now, no prior reg, you're screwed. Bike is actually title-able in it's current state, you're screwed. If you need more ammo, carry a printout of the state's DMV/RMV site showing what they will and will not title so you can point and say "SEEEEEE, no title, shuddup and register it nao!"

Ha, no. That's my generic impatient and getting annoyed voice. It borrows from bad anime engrish somewhat.

I actually don't have a humorous stereotypical greek accent in my head to use, best I can come up with is you kicking down the RMV cube walls while shouting "This is Sparta!"? :/

I bought my r5 from Dick Bettencourts auction with no title. Registered it in Vermont (non resident) then brought the current VT reg to the RMV and got a MA title/reg.

    Hit up https://www.facebook.com/barry.sanel?hc_location=stream

He's got a hot RD that was a former USCRA staple, converted back to street duty he's selling. It's the 'Yoohoo Chocolate' machine if you want to google it.

My first bike came from RI with no title due to its age (1994 FZR). I registered it in MA with the prior registration and bill of sale, no questions asked and no issues whatsoever.

    Re: WTB Yamaha RD 350/400

    Copy/paste

Turns out I'm one of those dipshits,
who started something they couldn't finish.

I'm going to blame this 213 year old house I just bought,
    and my low paying job.
    But mostly the house.

    Anyway,
    1976 rd400 with Title.
Rebuilt motor: new crank + rods (work by Lyn Garland),
new pistons, fresh bore on the cycls, all new bearings
    Carbs rebuilt,
    rebuilt calipers
    NEW Avon tires mounted
    NEW ikon shocks
    used clip-ons
    used rearsets

    Needs:
    Time
    money
wiring finished (all stock wiring intact)
    intake
    button everything down
finish rear set brackets - or buy some fucking new ones
a seat or something, or finish up this one:

Couple boxes of parts to go with. stock exhaust, luggage rack, speedo/tach, etc.

$1400 OBO. Truly love this bike and hate to see it go.
Will possibly accept partial trade for an older smaller displacement mc/scooter (i.e. ct90, cub).

You bought from RI. In state bikes vs out of state is different.

Yes, that's correct. Just agreeing with what Kurlon said:

    Re: WTB Yamaha RD 350/400

    Good luck hunting.

I found my RD after looking off and on for about a 5 year period. I finally pulled the trigger on my current 1975 RD 350.

I had my first RD 350 back in 1978. It was a 1973. Since that first RD, I've had 10 other bikes(+/-) even a RD 400 was in the mix. But those RD 350's are in a class all by themselves. They are so much fun to run.

I have several other bikes now and my RD gets it fair shre of time on the road.

    Good luck in your hunting.
