    Airoh helmets

    thinking of buying one prefered is the GP500 has anyone wore one or have one? what are your thoughts

    are they even available in the US? Are they DOT approved? Never heard of them.

    no they are not available in US but three or four riders in MOTOGP wear them so i would say yes to dot approved

    good doesnt equal DOT approved. In fact a helmet can be pretty crappy and be DOT approved. Chances are they dont have DOT approval yet. I see they are gauging interest through a facebook campaign.

    Im sure the testing for DOT approval is expensive and they want to see what their market will be like before taking the plunge.

    I have one. Rode with it for about 4 years. I didn't get to test it. This one was very light and comfy. Seems that some of the mechanical parts lost their tight precise feel after a couple years of wearing it everyday, but never failed.

    getting visors can be a pain from Europe and no one carries them to try them on.

    They are not DOT or Snell rated. I think ECE approval of some sort. I'll dbl check tonight.
