    Bodywork Painting Review

Thought I'd post a quick review of a recent experience with Rich at Landrics cycles. Getting your bodywork painted seems to always be a big track day subject.

I brought my new unpainted SV650 bodywork to Rich. He quoted me a very reasonable price and offered a quick turn around (not something I needed but wanted to point that out). I didn't want the tank to be repainted so I asked Rich to match the color of the tank for the new paint job. The color is a pretty non-standard blue so I didn't expect a perfect match. I wanted single color paint with white number plates front and sides.

Rich turned the job around in about seven days, which really surprised me. But what really surprised me was the quality of the job and the finish. The color was a perfect match and he gave me a pint of paint to take home for touch ups. I honestly would have expected to have paid a lot more, near double what he quoted me. Not to mention he is a nice easy going guy, worked with my schedule to meet and drop and pick up the bodywork.

    Overall a five star experience.

Prepping bodywork is so time consuming....especially when the bodywork was crashed a lot.
I do my own paint and it comes out poor with orange peel....but to have a bike painted multiple colors with designs and number plates is usually pretty costly.

Its definitely a project that is worth paying someone if you got a good price.

    Lets see some pics!

Rich, do you do fiberglass work at all? I've got a couple of small cracks in my upper track fairings (trailer scars) that I'd like to patch up before I get them all painted purty-like.

I should have had Nick pick them up the other day. He emailed me that you hooked him up and got him running in no time. He said his roommate needs some paint work too, sure he talked to you about that as well. I've not spoken to the Laverda guy, just got back from Mont Tremblant.
