Only ten years? Youngin....
Six of us showed up at a kids house, introduced ourselves to his father and showed him the posts regarding non-payment for the wheels the kid was driving around on. We then proceeded to jack up the car in his parents' driveway and remove said wheels. Slimeball wouldn't even come out of the house.
"Hi, we'll trade you these four brandsy new cinder blocks for your gold OZ Racing wheels. Non negotiable. Thank you very much have a nice day."

At the time I posted that I did not realize I was almost booted from CL permanently because I violated the Terms of Usage when I posted identifying information such as his mug shot. The "helpful" folks on the CL forum helped me understand my folly.

Haven't looked too closely at that. A few days ago I did a search and it appeared that none of his posts exist. If that is the case then I'm betting he's moved back to the Fletcher, NC area.

Maybe post in that NASIOC regional section?

Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
Posted there and in the Vendor Reviews section.
Unless you're suggesting that I update those threads with certain information....?

Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
Update:
Claims hearing was today. Give you one guess who didn't show. So, Default Finding entered.
The court has acknowledged my cash losses and I have 10 business days to submit evidence of the damage done to my car while in Scott's care. The court will then decide the appropriate amount I am to be compensated.
Up next? Payment schedule hearing.

Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
Good.
Unfortunately actually getting paid may still be a pain in the ass, but it's a good start!
-
Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
I've moved on from the money part and accepted my loss, to be perfectly honest. That money is never coming back and, frankly, if he did show today...I would have settled for as little as $300. He clearly does not want to own up to this so I now have the absolute joy of grinding him out.

Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
If you get a default judgement, can you attach a lien?

That all will come with the pay schedule hearing. I request things like financial affidavits and/ or attachments of some kind.
I will openly say that I am extremely lucky to have some guidance on this to where I can utilize the system to its fullest potential and with minimal effort on my part. I firmly believe the magistrate saw me clearly out of my element but prepared enough to bring a respectable claim and so the court worked with me to bring more substance to my claim. I felt great walking out of there today.

Good for you, I'm glad to hear it. My only interaction with the court system went, uh, a little differently. I got a default judgement in my favor but it was a big mess from there. I ended up with no restitution and a particular dissatisfaction with Boston po-lees.

Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
"Thankfully" the Littleton police have no interest in bringing a larceny charge (or other charges for that matter) against him and with that I am more than happy to be forging my own path through the legal system with regards to this case.
-
Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
I would almost guarantee that this whole exercise is a total waste of time. I'm sure it's not the first claims case held against this guy and he knows how to work the system, which is why he didn't show. He will never pay you.
-
Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
Was your case criminal or civil? If it's criminal and he didn't show, they probably would have issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
-
Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
It's a civil case. If he doesn't show for the payment schedule hearing, that's when things start to change. I won't have to bring criminal charges. He'll do that for me.
As far as a waste of time, yes, this is an exercise in futility on the surface however I'd rather use my time and resources as needed if it means he is even remotely prevented from screwing other people over in the future.

Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
I applaud your effort.
The one time I filed a small claim, it was after everyone also told me it was a waste of time and Id never get paid, and I got every dime owed me.
Having an open judgement against you closes a lot of doors.

Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
"I take money grams, cash or wire transfers. No cards." 3 Year warranty to 1 Year to 2 Year price changes from 2800 to 1500 cash if I picked up the motor that day.

Re: No bueno!! Subaru Specialties (Scott Dana Boyd)
Guess who's advertising on CL again...
Must need some cash. LOL
I wouldn't mind if anyone (or everyone) searched out and flagged his posts. I can pay everyone in beer if it comes down to it....and I'm serious when it comes to beer.
