Well, I have been waiting a while to post about my latest and greatest Cycles experience. I held off b/c a NESR member who works there gave me his word he would get ahold of me about a certain issue we had discussed. Apparantly he doesn't plan on "getting" back to me. Early this summer I bought a textile jacket from them, make/model isn't important, what is important is that the jacket did not fit comfortably while on my motorcycle. Less than two weeks later I attempted to return the jacket WITH receipt so that I could get a properly sized/more comfortable jacket. I was not well received at the parts desk by either employee involved in the transaction. After scrutinizing some discoloration in the seams of the jacket (I wore the jacket 2 times for maybe a total of 20 minute on dry days) the person in charge told me they could not take it back. Now keep in mind I had a receipt, and the jacket was perfect in my eyes. Here comes the interesting part, instead of giving me a store credit or trying to give me the same jacket in a smaller size, he told me to basically pound sand. His advice? I can't help you, best bet is Ebay or Craigs list. Now I don't know about any other NESR members but that seems like someone TRYING to lose a customer. So far I have convinced 6 people I know of to go elsewhere to buy their bikes. I can't tell you not to go, but I will never be purchasing anything from them ever again. Sorry for the rant, just been bottling up for some time. TLRMan was their the night the employee/nesr member told me he would handle it too, so he can back that I'm not just blowing steam.

FYI Chris Compano(Sp?) at the parts desk always treated me right, he was not part of or privy afaik about this. Its too bad the rest of the employees didn't share his insight or desire to help.
Nick the first and last time I dealt with C128 was back in 1990 when I bought my first and last used bike from a dealer. I knew one of the paper pushers there (we occasionally hung around in HS) they unfortunately had the same attitude then as you describe now. Apperently the only good person back then was the service writer and I'm sure he is long gone from that hole. sorry you had to go thru that shit I thought it was just common knowledge on the NS to stay away from C128

Honestly matty they are close so its kind of a trap when you want something/need something. But I have been up to SeaCoast a couple of times and will be visiting them from now on eventhough its a longer drive. Just better people all around, and only about 20 minutes from me (believe it or not).
Well you would assume that 2 weeks AND a receipt should be good enough to return, right?
I work less then a mile from C128 so I find myself there quite a bit. There is only one parts guy I like to deal with, all the others act like they can't be bothered. I wish I remembered his name because he is always willing to answer questions and help me out.
The service department is another story. I have had to wait 3 weeks to get an appointment to change a rear tire and 2 weeks for a front tire. Not to mention when I bought the bike they delivered it with a dead battery. This after paying the $300 something "Road Ready" fee. The kicker was when I brought it to them that day I was told it would be a week till they could squeeze me in. I went straight out to the sales floor and made a big enough scene that I had a new battery that day.
+1000
Walked in there once after riding my Honda cbr clear past the front glass and everyone in there was like "Hey welcome to Seacoast we're here we have what you want and will treat you right"

Damn sorry to hear about everyone's issues with C128. I have only positive experiences with my two dealers up here. Before the Ape I had a Speed Triple and Second Wind in Amherst, NH was awesome. You could just show up at their door and if they could fix it quick they'd do it right there on the spot. Most dealers make you come back after making an apt.
Second is Seacoast in Derry, NH. You can't ask for a more helpful or friendlier dealer. I feel that it's worth the trip no matter how far to get the dealer right.
Got the PM Shep, thnx, PM sent back
my first and last experience at cycles was when a friend needed a set of tires. this was long before i joined NESR so i was going to bike shops to have tires done. anyways, his bike was in my garage for the winter so he told me he got an a 9am appointment at cycles.
So I woke up and left my house at 7, brought his bike up in my truck and we took it to cycles and dropped it off at 8:30. The guy behind the counter said it should be done by noon, call around 1 if you dont hear from us.
1 rolls around the the guy hasnt called so we called them, he says yeah its almost done come on over. we get to the shop and they havent even touched it yet, its sitting in the same spot as it was at 8:30. my buddy goes over and yells at the guy behind the counter for taking forever and on top of that lying and telling us it was almost ready to be picked up. guy behind the counter says ok ok itll be done within an hour.
so we went down the street to get a drink, hung out for a half hour or so. got back to the shop a little over an hour later and it still hadnt been touched. at this point its been 5 hours since our appointment and we're both losing our minds. We both went and flipped out at the guy behind the counter and made a huge scene until he went and got a mechanic and we stood there and watched them change the tires through the window.
when the bike was done i told the manager that the service was ridiculous and asked him why would anyone book someone for a 9am appointment and then start working on the bike a 2:30pm, I told him that I would never do any more business with the shop and would be advising all of my friends that ride to do the same.

WOW, its amazing how many BAD experiences NESR folks have had up there.... heres a question, anyone have a GOOD experience? haha
Well, to update... less than 2hrs and another member, Sheppo from Billerica Motorsports is stepping up and helping me out. Thanks again Sheppo, it was not my intent to have the issue fixed but I truly appreciate this. I guess Craigslist and EBAY can wait.

Doug, no worries... like I said, the fact that your giving it an effort speaks volumes, thanks again...

No offense, but you wore the jacket, outside, on a bike, for 20 mins, why would you expect to be able to return it like it was brand new? They're going to get a ration of crap plus a significant restocking fee from whomever they ordered it from at the very least, assuming they CAN return it.
(For the record, I've no affiliation with Cycles 128 beyond going there three times to race pit bikes, but won't even be bothering with that thanks to the new 'MX on pavement' layout.)
Well, "restocking" fees don't apply here b/c they had 12 more of those same jackets in stock. No offense taken, everyone is allowed their own opinion.
