    Thumbs down Harbor Freight Tools

I ordered a truck bed extender about 3 1/2 weeks ago and still haven't received all the parts for it. I got a good price (on sale for $29.99, normally $39.99) however it would be nice to get everything on the first shot.

They originally sent me the 3 main pieces and no pins to hold them together. I gave them a call and I didn't know exactly what I needed but I had told them I didn't receive anything to hold it together so he said that I would get one of each. I got them in the mail the other day and come to find out I got 1 out of 4. So on Monday I will have to call again and tell I still haven't received my entire order. What a process this has been.

Huh....... Everything I've bought from them over the years has been thru mail order, has been complete, and to the quality I've expected for the price......

I didn't know they had actual stores. I thought they were an online company. This is the first time I have ordered through them. If I had gotten everything the first time it would've been fine because the shipping was only $7 and Worcester is an hour drive for me and I'd have to pay sales tax but next time i may have to look into it.

    Re: Harbor Freight Tools

I have never had a problem with the stuff from Harbor Freight. Then again I only buy tools that will be used only a few times and not an everyday use type of tool.

Plus going in the store is like smoking crack. I always leave with way more crap than I need. But 3 bucks for an electric bug zapping tennis racket?!?! How can you beat that? (yes I did buy one)

Serious question ... how do you remove ticks that are on your dog?

Mine came home the other day with about a dozen stuck all over her.
She did not like my pulling them off with a knife and my thumb.

Back to thread subject ... I have a Northern Tool shop and that freaking store rocks! Much better quality than HF and the prices are higher but the stuff is of much better quality.

    kill the dog.

    No wait that's not right.

Grab as far down to the head as possible then pull as you turn counter clock wise.

Who would of thought 41 ft lbs is enough to snap big bolts?

Off topic here but what the heck... maybe you can buy good tweezers at H.F. too!

Pour rubbing alcohol above the tick's head. It will start to withdraw, then take good "flat blade type" tweezers, down low near the skin surface, this will make sure you shut down the head as you withdraw. If you push on the body of the tick, you risk injecting lyme disease into the bitee.

there was a HF store down the street from me in AZ

as for the ticks, there are "spoons" that you can buy at pet stores. you just scoop em off.

    Re: Harbor Freight Tools

Not to change the subject. When Sears finally folds. I hope they sell off the Craftsman brand and it continues in a tool store nearby. I love their stuff. Great warranty. And a lot of stuff that isn't in the store is available online. In the store their is about 5 torque wrenches available. On line they have 26 to choose from. Just the other day I saw a $2677.99 1/2 drive torque wrench on the website.
