The Busa of the dirt would be the CR500. The IT490 is just something that will rattle your arms off.

    Re: Naults Powersports RULES!!!!!!!!!!

    FYI....
Motorcycle crankcase oils are specially formulated for motorcycle applications that have wet clutches. Most automotive oils are not suitable for use in motorcycle engines. A premium quality motorcycle specific oil typically has higher levels of anti-wear chemistry such as zinc and phosphorus than some automotive oils do, which are critical in protecting high RPM and high load and engines from wear and especially cam lifters and follower wear. That is not to say that all motorcycle oils have increased levels of zinc and phosphorus; many do not.

Over the years, automotive manufacturers have requested oil manufacturers to reduce zinc, phosphorus (an essential element in ZDDP, Zinc Diethyl Dithiophosphate) and other extreme pressure additives from the oil. The primary reason is that automotive manufacturers have requested is that they are extending emissions systems warranties to periods of 10 years/150,000 miles and they claim that high concentrations of these chemical additives were contaminating their catalytic converters and negatively affecting emission levels required to meet their 10 yea/150,000 mile warranty requirements. There are also a few motorcycles on the market that have catalytic converters, however they are not subject to the same 10-year requirements as the automotive industry for emissions levels.

Another issue with using an automotive type oil in a motorcycle with a wet clutch is that many automotive oils have friction modifiers. Friction modifiers in automotive oils tend to provide increased frictional reduction and offset a portion of the fuel economy lost when the U.S. Government mandated a reformulated gasoline for emissions requirements. However these friction modifiers can be detrimental to proper wet clutch operation and can cause slippage and other potential performance issues such as “engine start failures, a rough running feel and increased fuel consumption due to higher engine stall speeds”.

It is also important to note that there are automotive type oils that do not contain friction modifiers. You have no way of knowing unless the specific manufacturer tells you. That is why we say it is better to be safe and use a motorcycle specific oil in a motorcycle engine with a wet clutch that meets the proper motorcycle specification

    Re: Naults Powersports RULES!!!!!!!!!!

Bob R, I'm a little upset with your shop. I've been doing business there over 10 years. I recenlty bought a 2007 CRF250 from you, one of 6 bikes that I've purchased at naults. The dealership gave me $50 off the paperwork fee but wouldn't match the $400 lower price that another dealership was selling them for. I was told that was 'the best we could do'. Being a loyal customer I bought the bike. A couple weeks later I talked a friend into buying the same bike from you. She wrote you an e-mail and you sold it to her for $100 less than the price you told me you could not match, and she has never once bought a bike from you, and only a number of times bought accessories on my recommendation.

My question to you is, after over ten years of loyal business and 6 bikes, why will I come back to your shop to buy my parts, accessories or motorcycles, after that kind of treatment?

used or new? if new ... there may have been more dealer incentives. if used.. maybe that bike was traded in at a lesser price and there fore they owned it right?

Tough to compare apples to apples on used bikes..thats for sure.

Both new, 2007 leftovers, shipped from the same warehouse, to the same dealership within a couple weeks. When buying the bike she was told, 'don't tell him we're selling it to you for less'. No new incentives, no new discounts, both paid green cash in full. Just in an insulted loyal customer, and I'm posing an honest question. Why would I stay loyal, buy bikes, gear, parts and so on from this dealership that, as it seems to me, don't value my loyalty or the abundance of business I've given them.

    Re: Naults Powersports RULES!!!!!!!!!!

You know, I think sometimes loyalty goes unrewarded. I used a particular Lawncare Provider for years. This year, at my wifes urging, I decided to switch...mostly because the company I switched to gives the impression of being 'greener'....organic fertilizer, etc.

Wow...when I called to cancel with my existing provider they immediatly dropped the price. I still declined and got 3 phone calls. Two from the local office and 1 from HQ! Suddenly I was a valued customer. And you know what...it just pissed me off!

The new outfit seems to be working hard and the results are pretty awesome. Maybe some vendors see loyalty as an opportunity to take advantage of the customer.

Which is really a pity since loylaty is the thing most companies strive for. It's way more expensive to get a new customer than to keep and existing one...

This does help sometimes, I picked my bike up $1600 less than asking price, new (just saying)
