    Thumbs up Sprocket Center delivers!

I got tired of waiting on Supersprox to manufacture a 46 tooth rear sprocket for my SV. The original order I had with Knee draggers was done back in February with a tentative back-order date of mid-April. Well, when I called Monday, they said it was still in manufacturing that would now be late May. With track days in June, this was NOT acceptable. So, I canceled the order.

I searched for a reasonable substitute and found the Superlite all steel, which supposedly has the same weight as the Supersprox for half the cost.

Chad at Sprocket Center hooked me up with a 525 kit (Supersprox 15 tooth front and D.I.D ERV525 chain for under $275.

And the best part is that he had it to me in TWO DAYS from the west coast. (and not drop-shipped either, since it was sent directly from him via USPS Priority)

    Re: Sprocket Center delivers!

You could have just bought a full chain and sprocket kit from motomummy around 200 bucks with free shipping and shipped out the same day. (renthal, afam, driven, sprocket specialists, did, ak, anything you want pretty much around 180-220 depending on choices)

Then again, you like to make things really really unnecessarily complicated, just like Jim.

BTW, SV track bike... 525? lol

First post was a typo. I paid $235, not $275.

Not really, I wanted a 525. I'm heavy personally, so a beefier chain setup isn't going to make much of a difference. The 520 setup that was on there w/ the Vortex aluminum was chewed to shit.

I'm not sure why people chew through aluminum sprockets, but that's all my race bike sees and they rarely show signs of wear. People must be installing their wheels wrong or something. I''ve used Renthal for the longest time and this year I'm on Vortex. All is well with both!

I usually measure from swingarm pivot to axle on both sides to be sure the wheel is straight.

I use the marks on the swing arm... spin the wheel... listen a bit... if its nice and quiet and close to the mark... DONE. Haven't had a problem yet :-)

Chad and the Sprocket Center rocks. I have used them in the past and will use them again in the future. I feel like my chain and sprockets were there in two days or something. Got free shipping deal too.

My Vortex aluminum one is going on its third year on my race bike. Still looking good.

What if your swingarm has a small tweak in it? I align the rear wheel with the front wheel. At least then I know the wheels are going in the same direction.

I tend to stay away from those marks. Ok reference point I guess but whos to say they are the same on both sides. The little Japanese man could have been drinking a lot of Saki the day he drew that thing up. A mm can make a difference.

measuring that way it doesn't matter if your swingarm is tweaked. you measure from the swingarm pivot to the axle. if you get the same measurement on both sides then it's straight. doesn't matter if the swingarm is mangled or not.
