Thumbs up Abba Race Stand - Review, product pics etc

    Hey guys,
i don't post much, mainly lurk and search and read what everyone is doing. I always like to try new products. I sat out last riding season, I bought a house and sold the bike etc etc.

This season i got a 2012 Honda CBR600RR. Along with that i need race stands again. So after looking around i found these stands:
    Abba Race stands - http://www.abbastands.co.uk/

Great concept, Seems simpel etc. I youtubed and did some research. I placed the ordered and got them. After using it, i gotta say i do love it. Takes up minimal space in my garage. Taking up minimal space was my main concern. I hate having a cluttered garage. Drives me insane.

The build is nice and sturdy. I can crank off the axle nut and not have to worry. It is sturdy.
Ease of use is just as they say. Its pretty simple and easy. My wife-to-be has put the bike up no problems.

The way it mounts to your bike is on the frame at the swing arm pivot. One side of the stand has a little almost socket that goes onto the nut on the bike, and other side is a male dowel that slides into the swing arm pivot point. Refer to their site or youtube videos etc for proper use.

My first time using it that socket piece actually stayed on the nut after i removed the stands...It came along for a 2.5 hour ride up to Maine! Pulled over and after a quick look at the bike, i noticed a little gold piece. That doesnt belong, what the hell is that. Well sure enough it was the socket from the stand. So make sure you double check that the piece came off with the stand.

It is made to be removable so you can accomodate other bikes etc, i have not had that issue since. Plus now i know to look for it. Im sure you could drill and tap the housing it goes into and use a little allen set screw to make sure it didnt move, but why reinvent the wheel.

They also make other accessories that allow you to roll the bike 360 degrees etc, which i will end up getting. For now this is just for the stand.
Any questions or if you want to see specific things, let me know. I am probably going to make a youtube video due to the fact i have had a few people email me about the stand and how it is.

Purchased From:http://bluestreakracing.ca/ - Got it in 5 days, wicked easy to deal with. Nice guys.

Bottom line: Great quality, Easy to use, takes up very little space!
I brought it home on my bike in cortech saddle bags! (pics below)

price: reasonable, i think its worth it, versatile etc.

side note: I bought this for my bike but the kit worked on a 02 sv650 too and a 06 gsxr...

Here is my bike on the stand.

Already did an oil change on it (first 600 mile change) and i always wipe down and lube the chain, clean the wheels and bike etc.

This is when i brought it home...had the bike and bags(bags were given to me ) so i strapped it in and brought it home!

They make a mini stand for the front that lifts it, although you can balance the bike if you weigh the back down. We used it on my sv, super easy, it's got a nice handle and when you go to lift or lower the bike your standing right next to it. Also no mention of the piece that made it all the way to maine without falling off the side of your bike?

i originally was looking at that...But like you, i could never get in touch with them. tried for a month then gave up.

Abba has the same setup. You can add the rolling bottom chassy after if you want. That setup i think was around $800+, for around 500 you can get the abba stand that dolly system.
