Hey all...the time has come that we are reviewing the rulebook for 2013. I encourage anyone who has suggestions for things that they would like considered to post them up here for everyone to discuss. I'm going to be able to present ideas to the powers that be before the rulebook meeting at the beginning of August. The forum is yours.....

The north garage PA system has to get fixed. It's been like this for the last few years.
Can we PLEASE get some calls for group 1 practice? We got 3 calls for the fuel station last round and a "by the way, group 1 is up". Happens every round & it becomes frustrating.
Is there a way to split the center scoreboard with waves? Spectators can't follow their friends in the race if they're position #25 in a 7 bike grid.
The air fence additions and track improvements have been awesome this year. Everyone likes the new cafe & all the other improvements that have been made to the facilities at the track.
2012? Beginning of August? that stuff can't be right.

That would be pretty rad...
If the system can't be programmed for multiple races being run at once and we can't split the scoreboard into waves, some sorta color coding should be doable, no?
Numbers in Wave 1 could be white background
Numbers in Wave 2 could be blue background
Numbers in Wave 3 could be red background
Something like that.
EDIT: Of course that'd prob have to be pre-programmed for each & every race... hmm.

An endurance race would be amazing.

I vote also for the color coding or splitting of the scoring tower.
+10000000000 for a LRRS endurance race.
Slicks legal in SS classes.
With the emergence of the large LW fields this year a Dash for cash type of race would be cool.

First off they forgot the ending punctuation for that sentence.Originally Posted by LRRS 2012 Rulebook
I've worn Foggy Respro's before on rain days without realizing I was infringing on this rule. Some helmets ship with a nose cover/dam now too. Is there a specific issue that prompted it, is that issue still current or is it worth re-investigating as those Foggys really help keep helmet fogging down on humid/wet days for me?
Is it possible to display 1st, 2nd, and 3rd call for races on the board? Heck, any announcement could be thrown up there for that matter. Its hard to hear anything out in the ghetto on the speakers. Even if they did work well, its easy to miss a 3 second announcement.
The Announcments need to be addressed, we get a hey group 1 your time started 2 min ago, and it s unfair to the group 1 riders when every other group gets a first, second, and third call. Also see if maybe there is a way to do something about those killer bumps in T11
WIFI, WIFI, WIFI please! This makes it more family friendly for those who are riding and not riding and would like internet connection.

+1 to both of these (and everyone else that commented about some type of delineation on the scoreboard). Please extend our thanks to everyone involved in the improvements made thusfar!
I like this. Perhaps worked into The Classic weekend somehow.
Yes please!! I know there's been a motard and an SV entered into the Dash this year, but they still can't really compete with all the MW people. A LW Dash would be awesome!
+1
+1 I actually don't care about this as much as I originally thought, since I have grandfathered unlimited data w/tethering, but it's still mildly annoying to make sure my phone is charging while broadcasting and broadcasting whenever I want to use the computer during the weekend. It shouldn't be a huge investment to put a few routers around the infield. Charge a couple bucks per weekend or $20/season would even be reasonable IMO.
Also, not really a rulebook change, but just a suggestion that someone in your position should be able to disseminate to the right people. In years past, the winner's circle ceremony (for all riders, not the Dash) was a fun event everyone went to. Early this season (and maybe late last, I don't remember), WC was, relatively, uninteresting and not well attended. You yourself came over once we started GET ON THE BOX! because it sounded like the WC folks were having fun. Scott Mullin is there pretty regularly, and I think I recall seeing Doucette once this season, but most of the perpetual front runners never show up. I realize that after winning EX races for 10 or 20 years, collecting intrinsic trophies/medals isn't as exciting as it once was, but those folks who always win but never show up are doing a disservice to the sport and their fellow racers. I think it would mean a lot to the folks who may never reach the point where they're largely fully sponsored to have those frontrunners and "local legends" spending some time with the commoners. It's only a half hour out of their afternoon; bring a beer over and wind down with everyone else briefly rather than doing so in the north garages. More attendance at the ceremonies = more (drunk) minds to think of fun stuff like GET ON THE BOX! = more fun for everyone. We could even get guest announcers to give Bruce a break, crack some jokes, etc (no offense to Bruce, just saying variety could be interesting!).

you guys who want a LW Dash do realize that its Motorace/Michelin that puts up the money for that right? unless you guys just want a featured race then that's cool but without a purse its kinda just another race. Maybe something can be figured out and some other company would be willing to throw some cash out there. In my opinion the Doucette/Mullin battle in each race is already the best one to watch.

We are trying to provide more advertising for the sport, RIGHT. Why is the NHMS website coming into the week of our event always Nascar and/or legends...It is NOT the only game in town boys!!!!!!!! And just promoting for maybe 1 event, the Loudon classic for less that a week does not really count for the other 6 events.
If the Legends cars were to bring in more spectators for the LRRS event I would like to know what this increase was. Aside from the racers/their families and mechanics. If no increase, we should go back to the normal 2 wheeled action.
I'm glad they were able to work my suggestion in on getting the race number up on the board. This helps out A LOT!!!!!!!! Now, can we fit in the race class. ulsb, p89,mhw, gtl......
Maybe a spec 250 class
No Motards in ULSB. Bring the class back to a more sport bike oriented class. Motards have scared others from entering this class. I've heard that people don't want to sign up for ULSB because of the tards. I don't know why.
Can we have a consistent practice schedule? 1,2,3,4,5,6,7. What new person knows that there is no group 4 and 6 & 7 is combined, other than maybe hearing Bruce announce it if the PA works or can be heard.

I have lots of feedback on what has been written so far, but I'm a little short on time at the moment. Keep the comments coming.....it provides a good base for discussion.
