    Barber Event

We're starting to gather a pretty good crew to go down to Barber for the October AHRMA event. For any of you who ride singles & twins, AHRMA will honor your CCS license - all you need to do is to join AHRMA (which is pretty cheap). The track is absolutely first class, and for any of you who have never raced in front of thousands of people - this is a really cool place to do it.

If anyone is looking for people to ride down with - post it here....we'll see if we can put together those who are in need so that you can share the cost of going down.

There is the opportunity to ride down there with Fast by Ferracci....the full AMA rig will transport your bike down there, let you camp under the canopy, provide you with tools, a mechanic, pit lane support and access to a tuner who was won both AMA and WSB championships. It's a pretty cool deal for only $1000 - I'll bet that there are fans who come by to get your autograph during the event....it's amazing what happens when you move in under a big rig.

    Re: Barber Event

For anyone who is considering going ot this event & driving down, I am aware of three people who are looking for rides for their bikes down to this event. If there is an interested party, it would be good for everyone going down there.

If this draws a good turn out this year is it likely to be repeated next year?

Definitely....but we need to make sure that year #1 works first. Things are rolling along, and if we can get some people driving down with a trailer we can get more fir sure.

i'm going down with some guys with my tz for the ahrma event. i'd love to take my triumph down as well and stick around for the ducati revs event but there is no more room in our trailer. if anyone is pulling together added transport i'd love to send the triumph. i dont need a ride, just my bike.

    Re: Barber Event

You can always ride the TZ....that's no problem.

If anyone is interested in driving bikes down there, we could definitely help you fill your truck as I've had more than a few people ask me about getting rides down there for equipment.

Thanks - Unfortunately the TZ is just too expensive (about $32/lap all in) to run for a track day.

    Re: Barber Event

I should pass than on to my "2 strokes are cheaper to run" friend...... that'd be good for a good 2 hour argument (all in good fun, of course).

    Re: Barber Event

LOL - Sounds like an fun argument ) Its all relative I guess. The TZ is tuned to the edge, hence the long term costs. I also have an Aprilia RS250 that is tuned to "last". Its a hell of a lot cheaper to run the RS than the TZ, not to mention it only makes about 1/2 the hp's so is easy on the tires. I can buy parts for the RS from Aprilia, TZ parts are GP parts and have the price tag and longevity to go with that pedigree

I bought the Triumph this year as my low maintenance "track day" bike. Put four hours on the motor and dropped a valve.

Like I said, its all relative...

    I'm combustion cycle agnostic myself

We've passed the three week threshold for this event, and registrations are rolling in. If anyone is interesting in coming to this event, I expect things to fill up completely in the next 10 days or so.
