    Awesome program Eric!

Sadly, at best I'll only be able to contest the motard class in August, the other two dates conflict with my local series. Bah.

Should be a lot of fun. These days will operate like a regular track day, and one of the rotating "groups" will be the races. The races are completely optional, but since it's a low pressure - for fun type of thing we figure that most riders will want to take part. Pus, once you add in all the prizes and purse money, the team championship (which will be super fun and encourage riders to help coach each other up), grudge matches (whose buddy has been talking smack and needs a wager to straighten things out?) and food/awards at the end of the day this should be a ton of fun.

Re: The most fun you've ever had at a track day - NESBC Races

Just to clear up a couple questions that we've had:

    • The races are 100% optional and these days will run just like a regular track day
    • Racers are 100% welcome in the Formula 300 and Motard events
    • Racers are 100% excluded from the Street bike classes
    • Novice racers are allowed in the Novice races and will compete with experienced track day riders (no Expert or AM riders)
    • All "racers" must be enrolled in the track day (or racer practice for licensed AM/EX riders)
    • The Team Championship allows riders of all levels (Street Rider to Expert Racer) to combine their finishes to compete for the $1500 championship. Up to 5 riders, top 3 finishes count. Work together, have fun, win money!
    • Novice and Street Bike races are free if you ride all three Sunday events in 2016

Looking forward to lots of fun!

An ex-LRRS AM or EX racer, who is not currently licensed. Would they qualify for the street bike classes?

This week be such a fun event. Canaan is so much fun for small bikes.
Can't wait to see our Motard guys throwing their bikes in sideways over there.

Don't take my word for it but I think Eric said at least a full year off. But I may not have heard right though.
Expert probably longer than that is my assumption.

No sir....you are more than welcome to come to the track day, but as an Expert of AM racer, you are only eligible for the Formula 300 or Motard races. The street bike and Novice races are strictly for non-racers and/or Novice racers.

Re: The most fun you've ever had at a track day - NESBC Races

Since we've had a few questions, I'll post a little clarification on the eligibility for the Novice and Street Bike classes. Street bike is very straightforward - this is just for track day riders who have never held a race license. Novice - the spirit of this class is that we want only experienced track day riders, Novice racers and retired (for a number of years) racers who want to just play for fun. We've had a number of requests from riders who raced years ago who are interested in participating. If you're a retired ex-racer, you may ride in this class but you must fit the following criteria and the "spirit" of the class - and that is that the basis for NESBC races are to have FUN and not treat it too seriously. We want a competitive field with no "class killers" in there. The following provisos are in there for retired racers, and Penguin reserves the right to make a determination on rider eligibility for any rider. Here are the basics - if the highest level you ever raced at was Amateur, then you must not have held a license anytime after 2010. If you made it to Expert, then you must not have held a license anytime after 2000. If you were ever a superstar (Expert Class Champion or AMA Pro) then this class is not for you. In other words, if you used to race you need to now be old and slow to play here. Dale Quarterley, Marc Smith, Russ Katzenberger, while great guys will not be allowed. Anyone of this level, or a current Amatuer/Expert/Pro rider is restricted to the Formula 300 and Motard classes. Of course, there is always a place for anyone who wants to participate (regardless of level) in the track day that surrounds the NESBC days.
