LOL. Yes dear.
For the record, I ain't doin' shit. 'cept mo' track days. But that doesn't stop me from being curious on how these things work.
Mind you I am curious enough to BS about it on the 'net. But not curious enough to call Penguin myself.
I also find it odd that one would consider enrolling in a basic "race" school without having my motorcycle pretty much already up to the tech requirements for whatever "race" org I intended to run with. I understand that some would/have/do such things. But I just wouldn't.
Honestly, I'm such a tight ass that I'd probably have more than my share of questions well before actually rolling a bike through tech. My hope would be that any surprises I'd run into at final tech would be relatively minor and either waived through with a "next time have that fixed" or "here, let me help you with that". When I did Penguin the Thursday before the Classic I was garaged next to LRRS tech. They started rolling bikes through there well before I was out of there. I saw a lot of "next time be sure and.." and "here, let me help you..".
My overall impression with LRRS tech guys was that they are pretty cool as long as you are legitimately not trying to be a dipshit.
Call Penguin and ask.
But I'll tell you this, the rookie race is not for people to get track time. The rookie race is for new racers and is part of their race license requirements.
