    New York Safety Track

Looks like this one is going to be a pretty neat place to ride.....lots of twisting & turning with some elevation to boot. Word is that for 2013 this is going to be strictly a track day facility, but the following year they are going to look at having some racing there. The asphalt is all down, and the next step is to clear off all the runoff areas and put in whatever retention walls and safety barriers that they need. These guys seem to be receptive to feedback and I'm optomistic that we could have a motorcycle freindly circuit there that can be run in two directions....effectively making it two tracks in one. There will be lots of photos and videos to come.

This sounds awesome. I've only ridden Loudon so this will be a nice change of pace.

You Sir know nothing of true greatness. I of course refer to ones ability to steal, drink and generally do nothing, and carry it off with style

I'm planning a personal visit very soon and should have more details to report. I'm also aware of a couple other projects (potential racetracks in New England) that seem more likely than not to come to fruition in the next year or so. Plus, Loudon may be making more positive changes. It's all good for motorcycling in the Northeast.

Love hearing about any type of forward progress for our sport in today's economy!!

This is great news! Although NHMS will always be "home", I can't wait to try a different track.

Tony and Ken C were out there the other day and drove around the track. Things look very hopeful!

Eric, has NHMS decided to forward with the T9-T11 changes?

Yes, the track will now detour after T9 direct to the Smoking Shack, where you will be served a hearty lunch, and then angled back out for T11.

No decisions have been made about a turn 9 change. It has been discussed on several occasions, but nothing is concrete just yet. I hope to get out to NY next week and ride the track on a bike.....

    Re: New York Safety Track

I got to take a few laps on my race bike today. It was wet, and my bike had a slick on it, but I got to get a nice feel for the flow of the track. It was way different on the bike than driving around in a truck. Very interesting place with good potential. I'll organize my thoughts and post them soon.
