I've been getting good at recovering photos and other files from busted phones and clicking hard drives. I use free tools and take my time. I'm not using a clean room but I'm at the point that I can give you a quick quote for recovering whatever you have soaked or deleted. Forgotten passwords and encryption obviously complicates things, but its all do-able if its still intact.
Can you access phone lines and retrieve deleted voicemails from dead dads???
Your park avenue leads to..
I actually have a few phones and a memory stick I was looking for somebody to work on.
Galaxy S3. Sudden death
Nexus 5x. Boot loop of death
USB memory card. Keeps asking for formatting all of the sudden
Might have an iPhone too.
Any of these you're comfortable with looking at?
these are the tools that I use the most, combined with a good bench setup:

What are you trying to recover? Just photos or messages, emails, videos? You can estimate about $300 for the lot and a few months time finding and getting a working sacrificial donor from eBay.

Primarily photos really. Galaxy has been dead for a while. I've tried as far as buying a new battery to swap in case it was something simple. It worked fine the night before and was dead in the morning. Brief search revealed that it could be the sudden death, but could be something simpler for all I know.
Nexus also primary pictures.
Memory card is likely nothing important but I wanted to be sure. It should have been all work files but I could have had personal things on there. No way to check without obviously working. Also could be something simple but I couldn't trick it to read with the basic google-fu knowledge I found. It worked fine until it... didn't.
seems do-able, but I'll never know until they're opened up and I see the damage. send me a message and I'll give you an address to ship or drop-off.
Are you able to recover media from older iPods? Solid state ones, not hard drive.
2004 SV650S
I have an external hard drive that needs recovery. Do you think you could work on that? If so, would you sign an NDA for any adult content that may be in there?
if you want an NDA you're looking at a $$$$ job. having said that, yeah I could use an extra bike for the summer
Fully recovered tax docs from 2 HDDs for a divorcee that the her man decided were gone for good.
Since they were not "gone" but deleted it was just $100.
