HUGE thanks, JC! Although workin' on it with ya started to get to being too much fun! Big thanks to Randy and John for helping me get this done too!

I still gotta clean up the wiring under the the seat cowl, and wire in some resistors. But it came out fuckin' awesome! Know I just gotta figure out what to do with all those wires...

Jay's undertail and hugger!

Believe me, Steve! I really wanna get out there! And I was hoping to get some riding in today. Now, TWO things may prevent that from happening...

1) Upon wiring the tail lights to do double duty as directionals, we noticed some kinda metal object in my almost BRAND NEW rear tire. Smack dab in the middle too. Seeing as I haven't ridden it since last fall, I'm guessing it's been in there a while. BUT, over the winter, it only lost about a pound of air. So I'm not sure how I'm gonna go about this yet. Odd thing is, the front tire lost about five pounds... :O

2) As I noted in another thread, I spent over two hours helping a friend get out of a really bad situations with his truck last night. It involved a logging road, powerlines, and some nasty mud. I didn't end up getting the Big Truck stuck, but it's as muddy as it's ever been in it's thirteen years of existence. Inside and out! It's gonna take me a better part of this morning to clean it...

Jay,
One of these days, we should have a "Twin" Ride. I'd love to check out Steve's Ride.

Steve, I'm in Danvers MA, where are you?
I know where Jay is....Out in the STICKS! LOL!

Jay lives in the Northern Sticks + I live in the Southern sticks. Central Ct...

But That does not stop me, as Derek Said Yesterday ( I'm hard Core )...

I go on a lot of rides. So you should see the Silver Mille soon...

Jay;

Just curious what are the resistors for? Is that to cure the fast flash on the signals when you hit the brakes?

some aftermarket blinkers have a lower resistance than the stock ones, so they tend to blink faster. The resistor fixes this, so they blink normally. It's not a matter of hitting the brakes while the blinker is on, I don't think.

No, it doesn't happen just when I hit the brakes. It happens all the time, but now I'm wondering: Once I wire in the resistors, will they flash fast when I brake? I'm totally fuckin' clueless when it comes to electrical shit...

Oh yeah! Who's gonna come do the resistors for me?

And does any one know for certain which to get? I got an idea off the gixxer.com board, but I don't know if they'll work for the Tiller the same way. If I remember correctly, I need four (one for each directional), 22 ohm at 5 watts? Again, that's IF I remember correctly...

You should only need them on the new blinkers, not the fronts if you stick with the stock ones. The LP short stock II's didn't change my blink rate at all, so some aftermarket blinkers don't fuck ya up.

I've got FOUR directionals out back now. Remember? LP's got some 'mini' flushmounts that I wouldn't mind trying out back there instead of the LED's that I got. Only problem is, ya gotta drill a 1-1/4" hole to mount 'em. THAT doesn't sound all that appealing to me...

Youze guys really gotta learn Ohms law huh?
There's a v, an i and an R in there somewhere, I will let you work it out.

Jay, you need resistors in there to slow down the blinking, but they will still blink faster when you brake cos that's a different circuit. Buy a pack of resistors at radio shack and try the 15ohm ones first, then switch 'em around until you get the right blink rate for you. Without knowing exactly how much juice your battery puts out, at exactly what voltage, and what Wattage your bulbs are, no-one can tell ya what resistor to use. If you are using led's, they are probably very low power, so a tiny resistor will do it (maybe 2Ohms). Actually, if you are using led's for brake lights, then an integrator won't work, so scrap my last thought, I'm waffling here.

Who said you need a "better" relay? What a bunch of crap. If they blink, the effing relay works. NEVER listen to anything a motorcycle mechanic tells you, they are, without fail, all clueless assholes.

I like Jay's set -up!
I may want to change! NOT!
These undertails have a tendancy to be a pain in the butt to install!
I want the 2 individual lights In LED...

Mark, to be honest the hugger was FAR more difficult to install than the undertail.

The undertail was a cake walk compared to the hugger. And I DO have the 2 individual lights in LED. What are you, fuckin' blind???

Hmmm...I have LED taillights, brakelights and directionals AND an integrator. Fuck, if you know what the hell you're doing, you're welcome to come up and bail the brother out...
