remember the quote from whatever mag goes something like ".. this bike doesn't suffer fools... it eats them...". well here is a the other view and i couldn't agree more.

"Not all of our testers agreed that the ZX-10R should win this comparison test. In the end, however, the only important thing the ZX-10R lacks is the ability to suffer fools." By Dirck Edge

Don't get to over confident there buddy. I've ridden the ZX10 and it IS a bike that will bite you hard if you don't fully respect it and remember that there is no way that you can ride it like the testers in that article. Just remember that they ride for a living and you don't. Not trying to slam you, just reminding you that you will most likely never be good enough to take that bike to its limits, and if you get cocky with it, it will remind you of that.......

aren't you too quick to remind? not trying to be a dick but shouldn't you at least know something first before you..? my tires are not even lean all the way.

would be different if coming from Squid or others that have seen me ride recently.

ps. i really really fully understand about the bikes limit. if i hear any more "you will never ride the bike to its limit" im gonna go shoot myself.

First off I did say, "Not trying to slam you," in the post. Also said that I've ridden the ZX10. I'm not saying you can or cannot ride "WELL", but one of the biggest mistakes I have heard is people getting over confident when they shouldn't. I've done it myself with my ride and I think this bike is a hell of a lot less forgiving do to the power it has. I've been riding 13 years and the ZX10 still surprized me.

Just remember that this was and is intended only in a friendly way and not a slam or insult.

Haven't had a chance to meet you yet. But I would like to get the opertunity at some point.

Man, if I had that bike, I'd sure as hell have it bite me!

Kham, don't worry about it man. People just lookin out for your safety and such. Ya know the routine.

I mean jesus, I'm 130lbs soaking wet and i ride a 1200. It ain't much different than me goin apeshit on my old Honda 400. You can still kill yourself easily on both, just in different ways. My dad gave me the whole "This thing has a lot of power...blah blah....respect...blah blah" when I got it.

Then I laid it down and he was all "I was right, blah, blah, I hoped you learn, blah". To that I replied "And I won't do it again, but I'm still happy as hell with this beast of a motorcycle"

Bikes are like guns. Yours just happens to be a Para machine gun, thats all!

likewise.

i apreciate the concern. im just pointing out my feeling im still being looked at as newbie. all i did was post a link to an article about which liter bike is more apraised. im not pissed in anyway even if it's true but just pointing out. that's all.

You will never be able to ride that bike to it's limits
And if you don't relax a little bit and stop taking everyhting so seriously, you won't have to worry about shooting yourself, you're probably going to have a heart attack from all the stress you put on yourself

I wonder if 2004 will be like 1998 was when the new R1 first came out and the new ZX9 came out, the mags reported huge numbers for the ZX 9 for some reason, then in the real world it kinda fell on it's face. Your recent dyno numbers may just be the beginning of the real world proof
I was able to take one for a ride a few weeks ago, IMO it seemed very close to my R1 performance and handling wise tho i didn't rev much above 7k and hardly ever do on my R1.
I didn't like any cosmetic features of the bike tho, looks IMO like it got hit with an ugly stick and it stuck in deap

proof of what? Mark, there are real data from other stock owners with roughly the same HP but much higher torque. im really bother by the torque number.

I have no clue what my chart looks like, never dyno the R1 and probably never will Knowing how much torque or HP it's making isn't going to change my riding style or habbits, plus my ass dyno tells me it's running perfect

Kham the only reason anyone is giving you a hard time is you posted up a link as if you were bragging that a website liked your bike.

Who cares what others think! As long as you got the bike you like why do you care what a magazine thinks?

10r ugly stick? khams bike looks great. i love the tank and the blue paint. sounds like some hurt feelings and to much brand loyalty. i like them all. its not like any of the big four gave you a bike for free so why get your panties in a twist? as long as i'm making payments i choose the bike that fits me.

Hey, hey, guys...... Let's all just close our eyes, take a deep breath, and remember that the 1000RR is the best bike in 2004, allllaigght?

I like the looks of the 10R, but ruled it out because I wanted an undertail exhaust and I read about trannie problems in the mags (which turned out to be a non-issue when released).

All the liter bikes are so close in performance you're pretty much buying based on looks and minute handling characteristics anyway....
