It's dead Jim!

Doh!

Dropped my V1 this morning in the parking lot..

It was already on the fritz but this seems to have finished it off... the Laser warning is just going off continuously...

I may try to open it up and fix it, if it is what I think it is, I may get lucky..

If not it isn't going to get replaced terribly soon.

Ben

I've dropped by Escort Passport 8500 several times onto the ground from a distance at roughly waist height, and it's still ok...

Ben, I HIGHLY doubt you could pick me up...

Naw, but that sucks Ben, nothing like a $400 device shot. Even if they do repair it and send you a smoking upgragded one, you have to put effort into sending it, and waiting, blah, blah, blah, but at least it's at the end of the season...

It's 6 years old so whatever...

Yes the effort to mail it back is annoying though.

I don't really think they are going to fix it, they're going to make it worthwhile for me to just buy a new one.

I had already called as it's on the fritz and they said it'd probably be better to just get a new one, it is a known defect in the design that has been corrected for a long time now.

If you throw it out I'll take it.

Type in your serial number on their web site to see its trade in/up value.

I found out my ancient one is $200 to get a new one.
That and the WHOLE K band section isn't working. No visual warning that circuits' not there to "save me".
