NESR Tire Pricing

By special arraingment with Dave at Motorace, I can now offer a very good deal on Michelin Street tires. This deal is on the new Pilot Power tires in the most popular sizes. Pricing is based on front and rear, however if you only need one tire, call me and I'll work up a good price for you.

120/60, 65, 70-17 & 160/10-17 $281.50
120/60, 65, 70-17 & 170/60-17 $281.50
120/60, 65, 70-17 & 180/55-17 $291.50
120/60, 65, 70-17 & 190/50-17 $319.50

Mounting & Balancing reg $20/wheel is now $15, and R&R wheels on the bike reg. $25, now $20.

I do not stock the tires, but I can have them here next day, so call ahead for an appointment and I'll set up a time to fit them while you wait.

Tell him to at least drop to a 190. The 12 handles much better with a narrower tire. I'm on a 180 right now but I'll be giving a 190 a shot in a month or 2.

I don't have a listing for a Michelin 200 series. I can also Optimize any bike for the tire diameters, See our web site for details

Michelin no longer produces a 200 rear.

I do have about 75 left in Pilot Sport. This tire was called the Pilot Sport HPX.

This was a tire that was designed for the Hayabusa / ZX-12R due to their high weight and very high top speed. The casing is of a different construction to handle this use.

I eBay these tires now since they are not current for $255.00 a set.

The current Pilot Power casing can handle the strain those big bikes put on a tire, so they didn't make a HPX version of it.

Michelin will not make a 200 series tire anymore. The tire is too wide for street use, and will not allow the bike to turn. Wider is not always better.

What do you want to put up? I have the numbers to back this up!

There is a reason why we don't mount 190 rears at a go-kart track like Loudon. Even our open-class riders run 180's there.

Wider is not always better. It's like kids who want to mount a 190 on their 600. It may fit and look cool, but you just lost the biggest plus to a 600 - nimble.

The 16.5" tire was designed to overcome this very handicap - larger footprint with a tire that would still allow the bike to turn.

This is another reason why Michelin will NEVER get involved with the wide chopper tires market. Michelin is a performance minded, technology driven company, and those type tires have no technology or performance.

All the numbers in the world are great, but I've been on the 12 with 200's and 180's, yes there is a difference but it's not all it's cracked up to be, I'll still take a 200 on the street over the 180 all day long, as far as Loudon goes sure I run 180 208GP's there and they are great, but I have no problem running the 200 for a trackday either.
