FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHKKKKKKK!

.... after all that shit w/ the bead of my tire i put up with this week, it's now sealed up beautifully, thanks to gsxrJack..... but i JUST found a leak in the tread.

I can't believe it's leaking where it is. it's such a small cut in the rubber. looks so small & is in the meat, not the tread. can't believe it went all the way through

guess i'm lookin for new rubber

the question is... do i simply find another Metz Sportec M1 front or go w/ a full set, maybe somethin different? only tires i've ridden on are these & the stock 207's (flat, cupped & sucked)... i DID like these sportec's, but comparing anything to those stock 207's is like comparing a chevy nova to a ferrari 360.

and of course now that i raised the forks in the tripple clamps after my "unexpected dismount" at VIR i'm not gonna get a true comparison unless i lower em back down.

ahh.... such are the riddles of motorcycling life

i'd get em if they weren't so expensive i'll give it some thought though... just for you

but in support of the Metzlers, i got about 6000 miles out of em, including 3 days of track time.... and they've still got about 2000 miles of tread left on em. Pretty good for a set of super sport tires that are about 40 bucks cheaper than the competition

they also have your Metzlers on there, and according to my calculations, If I bought the Metzlers on that site for my bike, I would only save about $15 for the set compared to the Powers

That site is pretty cheap. You have no excuses now Petey. Get the Powers or you won't be cool

Pete if the leak is that small why dont you plug it????

Some people do not feel all that confortable riding with plugs, but I have done it on two tires with no issues!! Both of mine were rear tires though.. Were abouts is the hole? Post a picture and I can give you an idea if I would feel safe plugging it and riding on it... That would save you some $$..

it's right in the middle of the meat on the front.... haven't really thought about plugging it, but I don't think i'd be comfortable w/ a plugged front

just sucks cuz it's a little fuckin tiny thing ... what do you guys think?

i got a shitload of milage outta the Metzlers, like i said, about 6000 miles & three days of track time... they were good while they lasted, even though they'd last a couple thousand miles more if i gave em an easy life for the rest of their time.

i'm weighing the options... tryin to decide if i wanna go w/ another metz front & stick w/ those (of course i'd have to get another M1 rear once the current one wears out), or get a full set & switch to the pilots, or save some bucks & go w/ a set of the 208's... I can't believe how cheap the 208's are now.

always amazes me... people afraid of a good plug...

<-- rode the track day with two plugged tires (2 plugs in rear, 1 plug in front)

dunno, new tires are always a nice thing, but at the price, fuckit, i'll plug if i can.
