Thanks Pete - despite the fact that I look more like Im pulling into the pits than into turn 6 (???) I really do quite like it. In fact I plan to print out an 8x10 for the living room. I guess everytime I post itll remind me that I suck.

Don't sweat it man, everyone's got to start somewhere and you definitely showed improvement throughout the day, and came off the track with a few things to work on for next time. My first trackday I was slower than molasses, now I am as fast as...er...what's slightly faster than molasses? Honey?

I'm slowly working my way through the pancake toppings, next trackday I hope to be fast as syrup. Not maple syrup mind you, let's not go crazy that's a fast pouring syrup right there, but definitely the aunt jemima brand, I think that's a reasonable goal. I'd try for Mrs. Butterworth's but shit that's a creepy image to keep in your head all day, damn syrup bottle shaped like my grandma that's just not right.

Ask the important questions:

1. did you have FUN?
2. did you get to hang out with some cool people?

If you said yes to those two questions, none of the shit at the top matters. Alwasy remeber why you ride in the first place

Its all about being involved with the sport and the people and challenging yourself and learning......sometimes learning the hard way.
Bottom line is that you had a fun and great experience!

-DON'T BRING THE R1 though for your first track day.....I know this kid who brought an R1 to his first track day and started getting a little cocky and riding fast....and well there was no more R1 by the end of that day........... (but I got to ride in an ambulance)

Well after my first track day in 05 I took a year off then did a couple of days on a motard in 07 and got back to the sportbike this year. I feel like progress is finally coming albeit very s....l.....o.....w.....l.....y

I miss some of the folks from these old threads....
