Conversation w/ a guy on Lansdown tonight

me - "dude... that is an absolutely gorgeous bike"
him - "thanks, bro"
"how long ya been riding?"
"two months"
"................................. oh wow..................... congrats"
"thanks"
*stood there... looked at the bike... walked away

he's the proud owner of a BRAND SPANKIN NEW (two month old, obvoiusly) GORGEOUS black 999 Testastretta... Biposto of course, so he can take the bitchiz for a ride.

... more power to him.

seeing as I am one of the resident Ducatisti, I must inform you that the 999R only came in red for this year, and only in Fila Livery scheme for last year and the year before.

It was either a 999S or just a plain 999

was it a Mono or Biposto? Ducati didn't make a biposto 999R or 999S, which would mean that it was just a 999.

Did he say anything about the bike having carbon fiber body panels?

Did you get a good look at the front and rear suspension? Was it Showa or Öhlins? Showa would mean 999, and Öhlins, either 999s or 999R

oh, and its Testastretta bitch

just thought I'd bring this one back from the dead.

Its really sad to see such a great bike go unused like this. I've actually seen this guy and his bike on Lansdowne the past two Saturday nights in a row and would imagine that he probably does this most every other night as well

I can't believe how it looks with those neon lights. What these guys are doing is actually kinda pathetic, really. While everyone is out having a good time in the bars and clubs, these guys are standing there next to their bling mobiles for hours on end, hoping that a girl will talk to them, but no one ever even pays attention to them. In fact, I think the only person ever to talk to them was Pete

haha, actually i kinda dug the neons on that one..... that's a first. It was funny as hell, last weekend before the USGP party we were there the night before... Deb (Peter Kates' girl) walks RIGHT up to the guy.... says

"This your bike"
"yeah"
"..... WHAT'S W/ THE CHICKEN STRIPS?"

I almost PISSED MYSELF

Peter, Deb and I actually hung out w/ the guys standin down there for a while & shot the shit w/ em.... they really picked our brains once they knew Peter & Deb raced and I'm getting into it soon and suprisingly they didn't seem too squidly (not that they're not )

Do they still meet on Landsdowne on game nights? I can imagine that place is a zoo esp. for Yankee games. Wouldn't feel safe leaving my ride there.

no it wouldn't. i was there once with a squid from Quincy when i had the 636. as soon as i park the bike, 2 cops were chasing a guy and whack the fairing with his flash light as he ran by.

oh and Pete, don't judge a guy by the tire. it's retard.

Why bother were those retarded posers that hang out on the corner? You're loosing coolness points just by talking to them. I'll save you the trouble from now on, No, they can't ride the bikes, no they don't know anything about them, yes they have social phobias, and yes, they are losers.

For me to poop on!

Most of them aren't on ducs. They're on this year or last years shiny new chicken striped, posered out sport bike. I roll my eyes everytime I walk past them everytime I'm down there. The same people sitting by their bike, waiting for a girl to walk by and talk to them. Should have saved 10 grand and got a mail order bride, at least that way they have a chance of getting laid.
