Got my NH EZ-Pass on Friday

Used it in the car on the way up to Bingham, ME over the weekend, worked fine on the dash. But the pamphlet says nothing about where to mount on a motorcycle? I have a zero-gravity dark smoke windscreen, but I'd rather not have this thing velcro'd to the underside - will it work just about anywhere on the bike? IE, tucked under a fairing somewhere? Or does it have to be visible? Maybe somewhere up in front of the triple clamp...

I toss mine in the map pocket of my tank bag, and just angle the bag about the same as the angle of the windscreen as I go through the booth. Seems to work fine.

HA! I STILL haven't gotten mine in yet. Fuggin' IDIOTS, I tell ya. The whole lot of 'em...

Yesterday morning (about 6:00 AM) was a complete clusterfuck southbound at the Hooksett tolls 'cuz the signage for the EZ Pass lanes were wrong. People were STOPPING at the booth area, people were going through the lane that shouldn't have been-most likely due to the incorrect signage. It was comedic...

Signage was wrong again going northbound after work. Seeing as I STILL haven't gotten mine in the mail, I was waiting in the exact change only lane for at least a few minutes. Saw a whopping THREE cars use the EZ Pass lane. And two of 'em STOPPED when they got to the toll booth!

LOL

The fucking state...is so retarded. I work with them almost daily. Every department is full of ineptitude...

You can just see the bluehairs, transponder in hand...

Watched the hilarity again today. Approaching the Hooksett tolls (going north), signs everywhere say 'EZ-PASS ONLY CARS - LEFT LANES'. Yet as you approach the toll plaza, the ONLY lane designated for 'EZ-PASS CARS ONLY' was lane FIVE. Lane five was smack-dab in the middle of all the booths of the plaza. The left lanes were all still designated for EXACT CHANGE CASH ONLY. Summa the lanes to the RIGHT of the EZ-PASS only lane were for cash OR EZ-PASS. Total fuggin' mess. Funny, no doubt. But a complete mess...

I hate to say it Jay but same shit down here daily and we've had the pass for years now. Idiots still feel like it won't 'read' if they don't stop. I feel like my horn must help the RF signals because after 3 seconds of rolling up on them with my horn blaring they take right off.
Maybe RF reception is poor in your area, give that a try...but start now

Only one time in the 5-6 years I've been routinely commuting on the pike have I seen someone pull up to the cashier gal at a pike exit trying to give her a ticket, and her point at the transponder on the windshield, then see them yank it off the windshield and hand it to her. But I imagine it must happen alot.

I realized why people are stopping in the EZ Pass lanes on the way through the Bedford tolls tonight...they still have the baskets in there! Yes folks, this is YOUR state government...

So now that I've paid my fees and whatnot, I still have to wait behind Johnny Loosechange to fumble with his tokens IN THE GODDAMN EZ PASS LANE!

Awesome.

haha, nice. I still haven't gotten mine yet...but now I live in Concord, so I don't go through the tolls very much anymore. Kind of pointless, but still good to have I suppose.

I figured it'd take *a little* time for folk to adapt, and NH residents aren't always eager for change. But this is utterly rediculous...

Case in point is the token/EZ-Pass reduced rates: You get 50% off with tokens, 30% off with EZ-Pass. There's already a number of 'action committees' fighting the difference in discounts. They don't feel that the reduced savings with EZ-Pass is fair. Never mind the saved time, the reduced stress & frustration, less fuel consumption (from not waiting so long), and the obvious cost to implement the system. Those things are apparently worthless to a great many folk out there...

Also, the state gov't is largely to blame for the LACK of ease of use. Approaching the Hooksett tolls from either direction, there are STILL signs for about a mile and a half that plainly read 'EZ-PASS CARS ONLY LEFT LANES'. Yet the 'EZ-PASS ONLY' lanes are the MIDDLE LANES. I don't fuggin' get it...

I've got mine 'on order' and I'll gladly embrace the technology. But citizens and gov't alike gotta get there heads outta their collective arses and get with it. No matter what you may hear on the local news (up here), in reality it's a major mess and nothing less than a total clusterfuck...

Jay;

The reason why they are in the middle is to allow the flexibility to reverse toll directions on some of the lanes on the far left during peak travel times.

Not saying that it isn't right, but that is why they are in the middle. I agree the signage should be changed but what are they supposed to say "EZ - Pass" Middle or Left lanes? or EZ Pass middles lanes today, but far left on Friday and Saturday and Race Sundays?

I think they are just better to leave it open and not tell anyone where they are. Better yet put EZ pass in all the lanes! Let the commmuter find the open one to drive on thru.

I just ordered mine today. I should get mine in about 5 months or so?

It matters to me NOT what their reasoning is for lane designations. They shouldn't have PERMANENT METAL signs a mile and a half before the tolls telling people that they're in the far left lanes. They should be using digital reader boards (which cost about the same as those enormous metal signs - this I know for a fact) with the correct lanes listed for EZ-Pass...

It's just fuckin' retarded. Leave it to NH's 'new elite' to fuck this up. Christ, the tolls that need it the most (Hampton) won't even have it 'til when? Labor Day?
