ah, you're a procrastinator too? I haven't inspected yet because I was afraid of failing with my aftermarket exhaust. I finally popped the stock cans on and will be inspecting some time this week.

Did you have to make an appointment @ RJ's? How much are they charging?

How much did the light cost?

I've heard that more and more places are getting strict on the plate light.

Kham: 3A is in Mass and I am in NH so that no work!

A996S: He asked me how loud my cans were so I would assume they are getting strick. You dont have to make an appointment, just tell the guy with the long hair (Roger) that you need and inspection. Its 25 bucks. I didnt get it done last month because I had a blinker not working.

Luv: It was 11.95 for the plate lights. It's two LED lights, they are pretty crappy but iff I can pass who cares.

I went to naults honda in manchester and passed with no big problems. The guy gave me a little guff for having shaved down my levers(to clear the bar end mirrors), but that's it. And I was worried, my superhawk has aftermarket cans on it, but there was no problem with that. $20 and on my way.

I figure if I have no inspection sticker, I can talk a cop into giving me a ticket for that rather than speeding....

Works like a charm. They just want the revenue. They don't care how they get it. This has worked for me on more than one occasion. Case in point... 2 weeks ago I was cruising home from work on my favorite go-to-work road when I got busted by The man. He had me on radar doing 58 in a 35, so yeah - it's a pretty fun road. He told me to slow down and gave me a ticket for non-inspection. $43.20 - thank you sir, may I have another!!

No, you wait for them to find that you have no inspection, be very polite, and they come up with it on their own.

I figured I'd post up another useless reply just because.

I went to RJ's today to get inspected and they said come back tomorrow, but I left work early today specifically to get inspected.

I ended up going over to Big Toys Consignment for a sticker. They didn't even check for a plate light, and they were very curious why I was running stock exhaust on a Ducati. Not for reasons to fail the bike mind you, they were just really into checking out my bling and were unhappy to see stock exhaust.

They suggested that I come back with my aftermarket pipes to measure the DB rating just so that I could know in case I'm pulled over. All in all, pretty good guys at Big Toys.

That Big Toys sounds like the perfect place to get inspected

What do you guys do if you have a fender elminator on your bike, no light there right? I heard you can get a light, mount it somewhere underneath the seat, but never seen one actually on a bike.

I have a fender eliminator, and it came with no plate light, therefore I failed. I bought one for 10 bucks and wired it to the open connector for the plate light.

Dickinson's Cycle on route 4 in Chichester, NH. $15, walk in, no real wait. I didn't even hafta start mine. Checked hi & lo beam, directional operation and brake lights. In & outta there in under 5 minutes. There's at least a coupla reasons it shouldn't have passed...

Just got back from big toys. They didnt give a fuck about the plate light but they were worried about my exhaust, thankfully my friend had some handy dandy silencers which brought it down to 92DB. They were promptly taken out after the inspection. And its 5 bucks cheaper than RJ's

Did they DB test your pipes before the silencers? just curious what you were at.

I told one kid that I could easily take them out, but when the kid that was actually doing the DB test came out I just said I had them, I want to get the tool and test my pipes now, I have a feeling they won't pass.

He talked about your Duck when I was there too.
