New Headlight Bulbs

Always wanted to try them to see if the hype was true so last night I picked up a pair of H4 Sylvania Silverstars and I must say that they are the best street legal bulbs I have ever used. The beam pattern stayed the same (unlike some cheap bulbs) and they throw a tremendous amount of light especially with the high beam. Visability at night was substantially improved.

For anyone hesitant to drop $20 on a single bulb, all I can say is I'm a believer now and they are worth every penny!

I've read mixed reviews on these, but I gave them a shot and I'm a believer too.

I put a set in my wife's A4 and talk about night and day versus cheap halogen bulbs.

I put one in my 7R too and I like it.

I bought some cuz they're bright and actually offer a way better field of view. The 19 year old's at my work ask why I never wash my car but put HID's in it

+1 on brightness & beam, I put a 55W in my SV, big difference over stock.

I did have the high beam filiment go on me only about 4 mos later, not sure why. Was in a jam and overall happy with the light, so I replaced it with the same.

I haven't done a side by side comparison but I have used the PIA super whites in the past. As far as I can tell they are equals in performance. You will be happy with either, but the Silverstars are a hell of a lot cheaper.

Exactly! My last PIAA was $41. How long do the Sylvanias last on average? I've got as little as 2400 and and as much as 10,000 miles out of the PIAAs. Regards, Snake

Not sure on longevity as I just put them in. I've heard mixed reviews from most people on the subject. The low end of the common failure time is around a year and I've heard just as many "3 years and going strong" stories too.

If I can get a year out of them, I'll be happy. $40 a year for my bike (2 H4's) isn't going to break me.

You just have to set your wheelies down a little easier!
