Off to NH For a track day!

Later, I'm heading out in the Am to hang out in NH for the day, then I'll be at the Moto Market Track Day for Monday!
I spent a good portion of the day prepping cleaning and putting my new/used Micron Exhuast system on! The bike sounds meaner if you can believe it!

I'll see If I can take some pics and post em up!

BTW ? Anyone ever trailer a bike while on the stands? Pro'sCons on doing that?

I am trying it to see how it works.. The bike is seriously sturdy and I still used rachet straps to hold everything together (Bike, stands & tie down points. Seems like it will work nicely!!

Later!

That's a BAD idea. Stands are ment to support the bike, not transport them on. All the bouncing from the trailer is sure to break something, then the bike drops down to the trailer deck, losening the straps and your bikes falls over/off the trailer

I agree with R7 on this.
I know my bike taks a icking when trailering it. Atleast when you have the tires touching some of the impact is absorbed. But if you put it on stands it direct metal to metal.
Keep in mind how small those spool rear spool bolts are. It wouldn't take much to snap one of those suckers off.

I loaded the R1 in the back of my truck this week using the spool-type rearstand. I used canyon straps on the front of the bike, and then put the rear on the stand, and tightened the bike against the rear suspension - as in, the front wheel wasn't touching the front of the truck. IMO, this took some of the beating off the ftont suspension, and was remarkably stable.

RG500 ? I had no idea who you were? I asked a few people if they belonged to this site, but nobody was. Seemed everyone around me today was named Mike or a name I couldn't pronounce!

Had an absolute blast today! IT was raining when I woke up, but by the time I got to the track the road, and track was dry! First half of the day was overcast which kept the temps low! After lunch the clouds broke up and the sun came beating down! It was supurb for a track day! I somehow got talked into running in the Blue (Fast) group for the day by Paul who ran the day. And suprisingly enough I held my own out there pretty good. ALthough a few of those racers blew my doors clean off! The fastest guy there was on a ZRX1200 with race slicks! Holy crap was he fast, even the racers were saying that! And on THAT BIKE??? Dayyyyyuum.....

More of a report tomorrow with pics, I'm off to bed, I'M tired.

And the stand trick work out tits! Yes, I said Tits! I strapped the bike to the stands and the stands to the floor. I have a good Pit Bull stem stand for the front and a real solid pit bull swing arm stand in the rear, and it really was as solid as can be! The bike never moved a fraction of an inch. and the trailer suspension alone took all the impacts of the road so I wasn't worried about that at all. Ussually when I strap the bike down all the springs are compressed, so The way I did it seemed better in my mind, and I am please with the way it trailered! But thanks for your input on it all! Unfortunately I waited too long to ask before I left and did not get a chance to listen to your advise. Happy I didn't in a way because it worked out tits!!!

We met I was parked right next to you. I had the two ktms and was pitting with the guys on the busas.

It was a really great day. I love it when the weather clears when you pass through the tolls.

Good to meet you, and what a day of riding.

So...

I know what you guys were thinking and telling me! I do appreciate the advise! I most likely will never trailer like this again unless I am only taking one bike. I kind of did go over board with the tie downs on the way home, so it was not really worth going this route. It was VERY SUCURE Though! When I shook the bike it shook the Whole trailer as it was one with the trailer! Unloading was a sinch to seeing I loaded the bike in backwards.. Untie the straps drop it off the stands and ride out!
