Re: Tire changing south shore

Hi Derek,

Do you swap tires on BMW's? If so when can I make an appointment?

My best,
-Paul

I'm changing tires tonight and tomorrow night, so let me know if you want to come down and I'll get you squared away.

No a problem Paul, if there is a special rear axle nut, then bring a socket for it if you have one. As long as I can get the wheels off the ground i can change the tires for you. I have an under the fork stand, a woodctaft pin type front stand, a rear spool stand and a single sided pitbull rear stand.

Hi Derek
I ride a K12OOS, from the looks of it I would say there is five (5) torx bolts that hold the wheel to a para-lever arm. Like the one in my avatar.

Could I send the tires to your address? Sorry to be a pain?

-Paul

Re: Tire changing south shore

Thanks Degs! I really appreciate it. Cant wait till the couch and flat screen are in. I think Ill just come down and hang out.

DB, were you the one pulling in when I was backing out? If so , nice bike!

I was pretty embarassed how flat my rear was, so many commuter miles and very few turns :o It was pretty much square.

I still have 2 vehicles down, so I had to put the tires back on the bike with a flashlight when I got home, AND I had to ride in today in the rain. The only thing more slick than new tires, is NEW TIRES IN THE RAIN. I took it super easy, but I could already tell the turn in was so much better. With the square shape of my old tires, you leaned, leaned, leaned, then FELL!

you can all lol at my chicken strips. I have nobody to ride with, so I just commute :o

Re: Tire changing south shore

I will be slowly winding down my at home tire changing business so I can have more family time. Please see the thread by Hammadown in this section. I can thoroughly recommend him to all my regular customers.

Boston Moto can change your tires at the track during race weekends or Tony's trackdays, $10 per rim, you dispose of old tires. Tires bought from Boston Moto are mounted free of charge at the track.

Thanks for all the business over the past couple of years folks. It's been a pleasure. Now it's time to spend evenings with my wife and baby boy.

derek

Can a moderator please erase the last post?

Degsy had a momentary lapse of reason as commonly caused by being near too many shiny gixxers that reflect the light into the eye at an angle that is dangerous to the brain.

Re: Tire changing south shore

So, I'm the proud new owner of Degsy's tire changer (top of the line No-Mar Pro model).
Feel free to PM me. I'm wicked good at it.

Prices/rules are as follows:

$27 per wheel off the bike including balancing/disposal
$37 per wheel on the bike including balancing/disposal

Knock $7 off if you're disposing of the old tires yourself.

Basking in my presence is free.
1 free beer of my choice is included if you're not a douche*
Fat chicks are welcome if they promise to either not talk or wait outside (both is acceptable).
Denno gets a free tire change for every mid-jump puppy catch he can pull off (several opportunities provided).
Pinkos get nothing.
I select the music and I take no requests. If I'm in the mood to play Prince B-sides and you want to hear Rush you can go chase yourself.
Big Lebowski references are encouraged.
No fanny packs or Members Only jackets allowed.
No emo kids. Actually, no emo anything.
If you bring a stripper with a cast on her arm your tire change is free**

*while supplies last, purchase IS necessary
**No air splints, one per customer, must have proof of stripper identity. Nudity (her, not you, dumbass) will suffice

Actually... I should probably make this a sticky...
