I heard on another forum that there was a bill being sent through that would allow lane splitting/sharing in Mass. Has anybody heard/know anything about wether this will actually happen or if it got shot down?

It was posted awhile ago here. Run a search and you might find it. If I remember correctly (which I seldom do) it was about operating in the break-down lane at certain times and you still have to yield to disabled vehicles, etc.

I didn't hear anything about it's progress, prob. fell on deaf ears.

That would be nice...lane splitting/sharing makes rush hour so much more bareable. When I lived in Cali I would never go on a highway after 3pm if I wasn't on my bike...can't stand sitting in traffic here.

i thought it was passed. lane splitting allowed between cars at a safe speed (i beleive 15 mph or something) and to the head of the class at stop lights

Wasn't it only for access lanes and shoulders?

Isn't lane-splitting still illegal with the bill?

Either way, I used to lane-split in/around Boston to get in front of traffic.

Now that I don't have a motorcycle, I still do it on my road-bicycle, and can certainly go from allston to kenmore faster than the cars in traffic.
