Where are all the old bikes?

So seeing as I'm becoming poorer by the day, I have to keep lowering the $$$ I can spend on my next ride. Thing is though, where are all the old Jap bikes? I'm talking mid-to-late 1980s GSX-R 1000s and the like, and even the early CBR900RRs. I can't seem to find any for sale in New England, where the hell are they all? Florida?

900RR's are NOT cheap. They are overly inflated sportbikes. The "stunah's" buy'em up since you can't kill them and they are torquey as hell.

Go for an older Speed Triple or a nice FJ1200. You can get them for short money and they are awesome bikes.

FJ1200's suck. They earn you crappy nicknames like "highsider".

I agree with iglu; 900rr's, hurricanes, gsxr's, hawk GT's are all overinflated sportbikes. How about a canoftuna (sorry, I meant a katana), fzr, or a Kawi Ninja 600r/750r?

No adds for old bikes in the winter

Have your pennies ready wait until after the first or 2nd nice weekend sunny 70 plus when all the bikes are out.

End of MArch or early May

get the bargainnews

you will be on your new ride by the next weekend

ps there is nothing wrong with an older superbike. I will be selling my 97 yzf1000 with a newer head and valves this spring but I will be trying to get about 3900 for it.

Thanks for all the replies lads, I guess I'll keep looking (and check out wantaddigest). Am I crazy in trying to buy a bike now, instead of waiting for the good weather?

For some reason I thought I'd be able to get a bike cheaper now in the winter, then go riding into the sunset like a :gay: on the 1st day of sunshine...

Found a nice Ducati 900SS/CR for $3500 in Manchester; and that FZR1000 here on NESR looks nice too! It'll just be for commuting essentially... essentially.

winters a good time to buy. alot of the bikes for sale are from people who NEED to sell. you can get a good deal for short money.

if i sell my bike i might look at odducs fizzer 1000 so if you want it act soon. that bike is nice and very well cared for.

I'll ask my buddy if he wants to sell his 89 600R for ~$1,200. Would you be interested in that?

I know insurance on that was ~$201/year for full coverage when I had it.

blackvfr: Don't buy it without letting me look at it first... asshole but feel free to tell me where he lives

Bhavesh: Nah, I'd want something 1000cc unless it was a classic like an old GSX-R 750. But thanks!
