That article's been floatin' around for years now. If you'll notice, most of the reasearch was done in the mid-90's, back when Fram was having all kindsa Q.C. issues...

FWIW, I ran Fram erl filters for over 40,000 miles in my RF900R, and NEVER encountered any of the inherent clutch/tranny problems they were known for...

I've also been using 'em on my TL-R. While I've only done two erl changes, I'll continue using 'em...

hey what happened to the motor from your 900, i have been reading about how easy it is to swap that into a 600 chassis, so i could make a pretty neat sleeper for the dragstrip.

You wouldn'ta wanted ANYTHING from that bike. It was just a little twisted blob of metal & plastic. It was so fucked up, the insurance fucks woulda sold it back to me for a coupla hundred bucks. Wasn't worth it, nothing was intact on it. Trust me...

From what I hear, THAT wouldn't even help your times...

yea yea yea, laugh it up, i know those times suck. i would love to see someone else get on this thing and do *LOTS* better with it.

there was another one there on weds, and it put up the same times so i am not totally convinced i am a completely inept operator.
of course, if they were riding a 96 RF also, good chance they werent the greatest of operators either.
