plus they have the new 190/55 size... which is supposed to be a great combination of extra contact patch plus agressive profile.

Right now, there is only a few hundred in the USA.

The 120/70-17, 180/55-17 and 190/50-17 are available right now. The 190/55-17 will not be here until January.

We got the Michelin press kit in yesterday, and it really is a trick piece of rubber. It really is more than just a dual-compound Pilot Power. They re-engineered the entire tire to update it with what they learn from MotoGP and tire tech development.

The only thing it really shares with the current Pilot Power is the tread pattern. The standard Power is now going on three years old....

What I'm waiting for now is the pricing.

I am curious whether the center is longer wearing or just the sides softer

Any opinion ?

North VT is like a long track day but the Qualifiers I have look near done at only 2200 miles. I have the 2nd 190 rear in the basement but the next time I am doing a pair of something else.

Note my 2nd set bt014 lasted like 3500

I'm certainly no expert on these tires, but here is a quote from the site the Pete posted a few posts up:

With a softer rubber mix on the shoulders, the new Pilot Power 2CT will satisfy even the most demanding sport riders.

Pal, that shit's note even close to even half a track day. Stop pouring the coals on in the straights, or get an ST tire?

The OE Qualifiers are reportedly spec'd a bit harder than the off-the-shelf flavor. Having one very easy track day and about 700 miles on mine, I'd say they wear pretty well. I'm still not totally confident in them though, which could just be me taking a while to shake off my close encounter with a guardrail. I like the Qualifiers' comfortable ride, but the Pilot Powers seemed more accurate to me? I'll be spooning Bib's latest on next, if they're priced within reason.

Your right I don't know sh*t but was being kind.

The North VT was a LOT of full power in 2nd gear and up.

Speeds 85 to mid triples <leo legally this is a gross exaggeration

Busa was leaving patches and in the rear of the column I was working harder

So ok

The Qualifiers are worse then I thought on a 1k

I did notice that the grooves toward the center become less deep.
Why who knows but when the are gone the tires come off.

C3M is currently only a process used in France. And not only on the Pilot Power race tire but also the street tire and on the Pilot Road.

Easiest way to tell is to feel the inside of the air chamber - if its glassy smooth its the new process from France, and if its like a snake skin its the old process from Spain.

I found it interesting how they can whip up a new tire tailored to the conditions so fast. I think that it pretty neat.

C3M is completely automated - no hands ever touch the tire and it is also mobile.

They can actually make tires at the track. The unit fits into a semi-truck.
