Yes... but did you notice when they go:

There were some responsible riders...
[show a few cruisers going around a turn]

and some not...
[show sportbikers passing as a group, speeding, etc.]

It wasn't till the very end of the piece do they mention that it was only SOME sportbikers, although throughout the whole thing, the focus pretty much is on how sportbikers are "t3h evil"

I think I can fix that Suzuki that was being "put" on the flatbed. It might need a new wiring harness though.

And what about the drivers that cross the line in sharp turns in order to prevent spilling their coffee.

302 motorcycle accidents in a year, something is wrong. Sounds like valid news and a valid concern.

actually they said over 2 years andthey did not say whos fault were each. if it was 150 single vehicle accidents in one year i could see a concern, and event still if i bike got run of the road by a car and didnt hit any car or truck it is still considered a single vehicle accident

so bottom line is whos side of the story is the report being brought from? my $.02

Watch the video again. About half the time you see riders on the wrong side of the center line. Pack riding is and always was dangerous. The group mentality takes over and if someone passes, the next guy feels obligated to pass, also. This leads to some hairy situations.
I'd be interested to see the next nights story as a continuance.
BTW, That zook looks a little rough but im sure with some time and Honda Pro cleaner........ .
Cheers, Lee S.

I don't know if it's the media or my own conscience becoming the best of me, but the more I hear about fatal accidents on "fun" roads, the less I want to go on twisty runs on sunday mornings...

That just pisses me off.

I am not going to start ranting but jeesh! What a bunch of one sided journalism.

It is JUST like what they report on Iraq. All the bad shit and none of the good (Or at least not the whole truth.)

What's the good side again?

I mean, come on. We're not exactly serving our country here. At best, sportbike riders have no negative impact on the community. At worst, some of us are flaming assholes who ride with reckless abandon and little regard for the rules of the road and everybody else on it.

Don't get me wrong, I love bikes and speed as much as the next guy. But I don't fool myself into thinking we're doing anything noble here by riding unstable high speed missiles on public roads. Hell, if I lived down there and didn't ride, I'd probably be pissed too at a bunch of tourists coming around and using my neighborhood as their personal racetrack.

Admittedly, I've never been to Deal's so I don't know for certain what kind of people ride down there on a daily basis. But it seems like the reporting was pretty accurate based on the clips they showed, most of the riders pictured were riding unsafely and generally like a bunch of tools.

You know, maybe they should just cordon off an area of twisty road and not build houses there, make it as safe as possible and charge a nominal fee for the motorcyclists who want to ride it, let them have at it and ride as fast as they choose without endangering others. Oh wait, we have those, they're called racetracks.

Wow sportbike riders are such whiney bitches.

Seems like a pretty fair and balanced report to me. Vast majority of riders act responsibly, a few act like idiots, lots of people crash, no one has any personal responsibility, everyone thinks the law is out to get them, etc, etc, etc...

Same thing everyone has been whining about for years.

Speed all you want, don't expect anyone to care and don't expect the laws to change!

If anyone has the time to waist reading my rant...

Only read if you got time and dont mind the ranting and bad spelling... I suck at explaining stuff so I hope you get what I mean...Thanks.

Ok so the people passing around shap corners is the only thing in this story I agree should stop! I dont want to hear about someone getin killed like that..Plus that poor red Gsxr1000 in pieces ....But the guys passing on the stright aways know what there doing, If they see a car coming and pass anyway, Well thats just askin for A crash but other wise, I dont see that as a prob... One thing that realy grinds my gears is the fact that the cops/news acts like the people who died in the crashes should not be remembered in a good way..I guarantee they say or are thinking "This motorcyclist was at falt and was speeding when the crash happend, Idoit should not have been speeding" ..Well that may be but they should not be focusing on the speed of the crash they should feel bad/sorry for the rider no matter how he died...But you only see people saying sad things when the person crash's doing the speed limit, Obeying the law etc..Hopefuly you get my point on that.

Just like that lady in the news video that got hit by the 4 bikes on the "Side" of her car on a stright away??, Just because the motorcyclists were in a high speed chase and hit her, She acts like there life's were not important because they were breaking the law. Plus she acts like she was the Victim in the crash..She says "Its just extremely frightening cause I could have been killed that day" Not to mention the 2 fallen riders that accually did DIE..Ya she could have died but the chances are not that big AKA she was in a car that has lots of protection and is rated high for crashes..Unlike motorcycles!

Its more like:
"Its just extremely frightening cause I have to buy a new door and get some body work done to my jeep" Boo Hoo.. Its a car.. 2 people are dead. I do not like this News story one bit! They have a good point (Not to speed around twistys and pass on corners etc..) But the way they made it sound is aginct Sport bike riders and are basicly saying we are evil and out of controll!!!!!!!!!! Even if A bike was on his own side of the road and a car was on the wrong side of the road and hit him..The driver could just say "The motorcycle rider was out of controll" The cops would belive the car driver NOT the bike rider..Plus that part where they say " All the cars where at the speed limit or below.. BS! That is some true BS right there.. Anyway This is geting to be the fucking length of a novel so I'll shut up now..Sorry but I had to rant about this one.. -Boss Hogg

Just wanted to clearify something on this.... she could have died yes, but the two that did die, were in fact running from a cop for speeding.... dont get me wrong, they shouldnt have died, but as everyone else said there are racetracks for that type of shit and to expect nothing to happen when your speeding in a area like that is just stupid, 150 mph in an area like that, you better expect death
