Radiator Guards?

it'll throw off your center of gravity & fuck up the handling of the bike. you'd have to sit 1/8th of an inch further back on the seat to compensate which makes it harder to reach the controls & places more strain on the arms & wrists which tires you out faster & makes riding a motorcycle SUCK.

Oh, ok. Never needed one myself.

I think the holes in the radiator guards are way too big to stop typical road debris. Not that anything really gets up in there anyway. C'mon, admit it, ya just want that bling.

Not only do we need that old drawing about OSHA and motorcycles, we now have to protect the motorcycle from itself!

It will not stay new forever, it will eventually breakdown no matter how much time and effort you put into prevention, it WILL happen anyways.

Easier said than done ... just ride the piss out of it and deal with it when it does break.

Combing a radiator is no big deal. Anything you put in front of your radiator that is fine enough to stop pebbles is also going to hinder airflow through the radiator which will have bigger implications than a few bent fins especially in stop and go traffic in the middle of July and August.

If you don't want shit to hit your radiator, pick up an RC-51. Just make sure to set your wheelies down gently otherwise your radiator might fall out!

Riding a motorcycle is probably the worst thing you can do for it. You should just get a nice set of stands, some plexiglass, put the bike on said stands, and build a glass case around the bike. After you've built an air tight case around it, I'd likely vacuum the casing down to 0 or fewer atmospheres, to prevent any dust or any such particles from getting anywhere near the bike. Imagine the damage a particle of dust could do if it were to smash into your radiator at high speed? Or even get in the engine? It would tear that thing to bits in a hurry.

Be safe, use a vacuum.

As long as your radiator isn't made of butter (to check, listen for sizzling on hot days) and you don't ride on the 'hot knife" highway, my guess is you would be all set and your bike should survive for a while without one of these $90 doo-dads.

derek

No, no, no ... nature abhors a vacuum.

Nitrogen purged display case will do just fine.
It is an inert gas.

You cant be serious? You mean, if you bend up a 1/4" of the hundreds of fins on your radiator, it wont like overheat or blow up or anything? Proposterous!

Now if we can get you to ride it till it breaks and you just fix it ... our mission will be done!

It is only a motorcycle ... not an irreplaceable work of art!

Sliders are more valuable in a crash than a screen.

It is not a question of if, but when it happens.

Definitely a NO on the vacuum... you would want to pressurize the case with filtered air to things out of the case in the event of a small leak.
