The lever debate

OK, since I have a little time to save for levers, I thought I'd get some feedback. I'm looking at either Pazzo or CRG levers. What are your preferences and why? I searched for threads that talk exclusively about levers, but didn't find any.

stock levers

usually can find em cheap if I break em, cuz there are so many folks online wasting(IMO) money on aftermarket levers even though their stock ones are still perfectly fine.

crg

Hey Chuck, I got the crg shortys on the brake side cause I only use two fingers for braking and longs on the clutch side.

The crg's come in several diff colors and the quality is nice.

The pazzo's looks pretty nice also but I never used them myself. I don't think you could go wrong with either.

I've got Pazzo shorty's on my 7R and CRG standard on my 916.

The CRG have a nicer finish.
The Pazzo come in more color combinations.

They both work the same.

I would choose based on price, availability and/or color if that's important to you.

I have installed both on a few bikes. Personally, I prefer the Pazzos. I think the build quality is similar but the Pazzos look a bit nicer, especially the black ones.

Check out MotoMummy

Then insert pazzo in the discount box ...

I was very pleasantly surprised and found this very hard to beat.

I have Pazzo levers, and I love them. Not bad on price either.

I'm retarded. Let me rephrase that.

If its entirely possible for me to take my nearly 450lb FZR, with its stock calipers, stock master cylinder, and stock rubber brake lines, and use 2 fingers to put the bike into an endo, how, with a modern sport bike/tourer, would 4 fingers make any useful difference as opposed to 2?

OK, I'll bite. This purely subjective. When I taught the MSF, we taught our students to use for 4 fingers, more for issues of feel, and fatigue. If you use 2 fingers regularily, and a panic situation occurs, you may overpower your front tire if you aren't used to using 4 fingers. So we suggested to learn with 4 and to try to keep it as part of many good habits. As far as fatigue, well my hand got a wee bit fatigued up at NHIS the last time I was there. I used 4 fingers to help keep my braking more consistent as I tired. It's just a case of personal preferences. If you don't like using 4 fingers, and have no problems with 2 finger braking, then, Duh, it isn't a problem.

I've noticed from all the onboard MotoGP videos that Mr. Rossi grabs his brakes with all four fingers. You know those things have to be incredibly sensitive and could probably stop a freight train, but like everything else this guy makes it look easy.

Wait a minute... you are the one asking about how much "racing" costs. Tihs is a WASTE! As someone said, stick with stock levers, even though they brake, their cheap to replace. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND PUT IT TOWARDS RACING!!!

but the extra 15 grams of aluminum in standard levers may be the difference between winning or losing the race

Point taken, but the lever aren't for the bike I'd be racing.

Need that bling factor if I head to Lansdowne St.
