FastLane

I picked one of the FastLane transponders up the other day. Just wanted to let any other GSXR riders out there know that it will work mounted underneath the top ridge of the rear cowl. I havent figured out what Im gonna do with it if I have a passenger though.

Good to know man. I used to just blow through the fast lane until i got a picture of my bike sent to me via NH State Police. WHOOPS!

So, I need to pick one of those up.

Regarding the passenger dilemna. Just make them put it in the pocket or duct tape it to their helmet

I don't use mine often, but when I know I'm going to be on a trip that involves tolls I usually zip tie it to the handlebar mount on the triple. It's worked well for me...

if you have a fastlane/EZ pass. it doesnt matter if it registers or not. "IF" they run your plate they are going to see that you have one and charge you. if they dont run it then you just went through for free. i put mine in the trunk. sometimes it works.. sometimes it doesnt. sometimes i dont even put it in there and i run it anyway. its not your job to make sure it works. when they first came out i asked them where to put it on my motorcycle and they said (no joke here) "mount it to the front license plate". thats pretty much when i walked out. ive never had a problem in the 2 years ive been running it. just make sure all vehicles that you drive are listed in your account.

Ma was smarter, the gal I spoke with told me NOT to put it anywhere inside or under the engine because the engine is metal which would block the signal.

I'm thinking they only have to say it cause someone did it (but uhh, I don't think I could repeat that as a directive with a straight face)

so, let me get this straight. you HAVE a Fastlane account, but just throw the transponder in anything you are driving/riding?

my bro tried snagging my transponder one time and he got booked for about $75 as he was not registered to use it.

but i don't know if this is what you are referring to or not.

I've been through two booths with it (on on, one off) and it picked it up quickly both times. You want specifics, fine. 2004 GSXR 600 with a stock rear cowl, painted yellow.

MA has started to crack down on this, now they give you one freebie then its a fine and my transponder recently had problems and I got the old call fastlane light so I did and they said I have to have it checked out and if it happened again I would be getting a fine in the mail. A friend of mine already has received a $50.00 ticket for not having her fastlane in the car (they said hers didn't register more then once and she never called them.

As for using it in more then one car, you just have to call and tell them you have more then one vehicle, I had mine registered in 3 vehicles at one time.

I put my in the map pocket of my tankbag. Never had a problem. Plus it's easy to take inside with you once you arrive.

i went on line to the EZ pass site and just added vehicles. so my truck and my bike were on it and before my G/F got one i had her bike on there as well.

i would tell whoever gave me a fine to blow it out their ass. there is no place to put it on a bike and thats not your fault. when i put mine in the trunk i try to get it vertical (like on a windsheild). i just cram it behind the tool bag. tank bag map pocket works well too, but i dont always ride with one. if they give you a ticket.... fight it. seems simple enough. especially if your vehicle is registered on the EZ Pass.

as for your brother trying to use your EZ Pass in HIS vehicle. they can nab you for that if his car isnt on your list. OR if you wanted to be nice you could tell them your car was in the shop and you borrowed your brothers car.....
