Hey Larnz, I just want to let you that Lowell PD.Will take all the time in world to help you.What you forgot to mention was that the fucker showed you a gun while he was taking your helmet, and if you would have done that you would have been picking him out of a line up before midnight.and 9 out of 10 they most likely would have found something in that car,They dont do shit unless its real serious up there in Lowell.My friend live on Market st, he has watch kids kick out windows and when he call to report the crime in progress they take forever but the one night they were out fighting and one kid showed a BB gun they LOCK the entire area down and found 2 real guns.So keep on them.

Yeah, I would say that the robber mentioned something about shooting me and friend in car with a piece, etc. After reading all of the macho reactions, though, I would say you did the right thing and didn't risk getting really fucked up over a helmet. Sorry to hear about your loss on the helmet. You can get a new helmet and the theif is stuck being stupid for the rest of his life most likely.

On your approach, I would say you followed your instincts and thus did the right thing. I read years ago an article regarding a hardcore gun activist who packed at all times. He told the reporter he was acosted by a couple of young men who demanded the 6 pack of beer he just bought. He handed it over to them and let them go, because it was the least likely to get him hurt or put in jail.

I would file charges against the driver of the car and see if the person who shows up matches the person in question. Or better yet a bit of background research, i.e. is there a bike parked where the car is registered and if so do you see your helmet?
